That is indeed strange. I did some testing and I was unable to get the game to overwrite an existing ini in the Data folder. Likewise I was unabale to get any ini's named to anything other than Skyrim.ini to load up the full list of settings and cause the tint bug.

Question: Do you also have an esm with the same name, ie; PISE-Misc Vendors? It could be that the engine loads whatever ini settings it recognizes from files matching the name of loaded plugins.

Odd mine was named "PISE-Misc Vendors.INI" but it had all the Skyrim.ini stuff. Deleting it fixed my red mist. :shrug:No need to delete it..rename it & move it to the My docs folder. the game will read it there. links in my sig...
Yeah, saveini messes up quite a lot. Seems to create a full ini in the data folder with the name of your last loading esp file and starts using that. Doesn't mess up anything...i have been using my heavily edited (generated) ini since first week.

2 links in my sig lay this all out, read the threads, the Fix in the RED logo thread are confirmed working 100% . If using the large INI you may not have noticed the ugly map yet..like said I have been using my 41 k INI since about day 3. also have a generated INI from each and every patch Beth put out...for comparison. Is how I knew just when Beth messed with this...

Lovin the game....keeping me up to long tho...Longest run to Date...19 hours straight. only 11 today...eyes are hurting for some reason.... :smile:

2 links in my sig lay this all out, read the threads, the Fix in the RED logo thread are confirmed working 100% . If using the large INI you may not have noticed the ugly map yet..like said I have been using my 41 k INI since about day 3. also have a generated INI from each and every patch Beth put out...for comparison. I deleted it because I already had one in my Skyrim folder where I was attempting to make tweaks (which obviously weren't working)

For some reason I get a CTD when i try to enter the map screen when I have bBloodSplatterEnabled set to 0. Disappointing as I find the on screen blood splatter very annoying.

I'm not sure how the game does the splatter, you might try making blank textures to replace the splatter ones.

Running dual AMD Radeon HD 6870's with crossfire disabled on an i7 quadcore and 8gb of ram with these settings...

(note, shadows do not get much better than this and I am getting perfect performance using the no tint mod and no injectors or shaders)

How did you generate this file exactly? Type saveini into console in game. This is on the level and it is indeed a huge playground. Going to start testing now.
I did "saveini" and it worked, but it didn't generate even a fraction of what was listed in the spoiler. Ideas?

You must be looking at the original in MY docs...NOW when we do "saveini" it will save the file in the "data" directory. It might be named Skyrim.ini OR it could have taken a name from a mod you have installed. Look in the Data folder for a 41k INI file...bet thats it. Check SIG

Seems most times when you have other mods in the data folder, it will take the name of your last loading MOD??

Hope Bethesda sees this as a problem also!! Really its not that big a problem a simple search, and a rename fixes it...just a pain!

I can only tell you this:

fdefaultfov=78
fDefaultWorldFOV=78

These do nothing in SkyrimPrefs.ini

Also fdefaultfov= is for menus. If you use a UI mod and had to manually adjust the positioning of the object in the item card it's because of this.

Good idea , I woudl like to add that I tested the localized version , well it works the same but some features do not , like the perk tree isn't loaded on localized version ( or at least on my Italian version) to make it load I need to remove the slanguage thing and use the default English ....
