Anyone got any tips or inputs on this? Most contain readmes or instructions that I will obviously thouroughly read and most of the time get it done with no problems, but if lack of information does show then I'm sure I can rely on you guys for help and questions. Please don't link me to precreated guides.

Why? That's what they are there for. So people use them and find things out for themselves.

Ouija is right. Experienced players made these guides to assist new players in becoming independent, self-sufficient and savvy Mod-blivion players, the kind of players that won't spam the Mods forums with topics like "hey is this mod good?", and they are worth taking the time to read. In fact, reading is a huge aspect of playing a modded game, like it or not.

Just wanting OBSE alone opens the door to a lot of mods.

Gonna warn you though, Oblivion is VERY demanding on PC specs. PLease make sure the PC you are buying can handle Oblivion even on the lowest settings. That means no onboard intergrated graphics controller, or older outdated pre Oblivion graphics cards(even some earlier ones cannot handle it.) Definitely ask about this in the hardware section, they may even help you build a awesome computer for a low price.

I can help a bit with ObXP, well, at least understanding how it works.

True, part of modding Oblivion requires a lot of reading. Those guides are there for a reason.

:facepalm: Oh let me count the ways this statement dooms you to failure. :rolleyes:

You want to play modded Oblivion? Get used to reading. Lots of reading. Fact is you should never install a mod without reading the readme. Questions are all well and good but you get better answers when you can ask smarter questions and you can only do that if you've read everything first and have at least SOME idea what you're talking about.

This is more of the answer I was looking for, thanks if I have any questions on ObXP I will ask you if I cannot find it in the Readme, I'm really good at this sort of thing as I do it with many other games. Also my PC can take medium or a bit higher according to people on the forum and online graphic 'can you handle the game' generator thingies.

Hey, thanks a lot for the suggestions. I avoided mods such as natural environments etc because my system isn't the best so increasing graphics and the such is a 'nono' for me. I'll definitely look into some of those though.

Well on the premade guide thing, let me break that down to be a little less dreadful sounding.

3 things you should look for when wanting mods;

The installation procedure.
The requirements.
The compatibility.

These three are almost ALWAYS included in the opening post of the mod by the arthor in the mod forum. Further details are usually added to the readme in the downloaded pack. Pay these the upmost attention and you'll save yourself a lot of headaches.

You know, asking for help, tips or assistance and then being rude to those trying to help you and dictating what "type" of help you get when there are guides written for it that took a great deal of time and effort on someones part to write it is just wrong in so many ways.

I'm locking this for that reason. Please feel free to ask but please don't dictate how they should answer and then be rude because they tried to be helpful. :stare:
