.NET Framework 2.0

=================

=================

The Morrowind Launcher allows the user to easily and effortessly launch Morrowind, The Construction Set and more with
a simple click of a button. It features a simple set of tools that allow you to quickly access your Morrowind Data Folder, INI and more.

Version 1.0 is a basic release with the intention of adding more options in later versions, so if you have any requests let me know.

***Features:***

Launch Morrowind
Launch CS

Open Data Folder
Open INI
Backup INI
Restore Backup INI

There are a couple of additional things to know about too:

Auto-Exit - This tells ISMWL to close if you launch the likes of the Construction set or the main game.

Save INI - THis is important, be sure to save the ISMWL.INI whenever you change a file path or setting, that way its recorded and loaded when you next
use the app.

=================
Use:
=================

Before you can start launching Morrowind or the CS you will need to click the settings tab and set the locations. Be sure to save the INI. Aslong
as you do not remove the INI file this will be a one time only setting, though you may change it however many times you would like.

=================

=================

Delete the EXE and INI files.

Handy as this tool is, it seems a little....Bland? Silly reason, I know. Also, how do we manage and check the mods we have?

Bland?, Make a suggestion then :P

There are tools out there that allow you to manage active mods and load orders, that's why the launcher does not and problably will not do that. The other tools do it better than I could make the launcher do it.

Yes! you've made a Morrowind version, the Oblivion one is so handy :)

I'd like to see launch buttons for the following tools,

- mlox
- obmm
- Wrye Mash
- TESTool
- MGEgui

:)

Hey, you know what; How about doing a version that runs MWSE? That would be perfect!

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll work them into the next version :)

Just a little note here:

The CS Launching needs tweaking on my end, but there is a temporary solution for you while you wait for an updated, rename the CS.EXE to TESConstructionSet, IE get rid of the spaces.

This is only temporary, I'll have it fixed and some additions for the next version.

Yes, having an option to launch third party apps (MWE, MWSE, FPS Optimizer...) together with Morrowind would be great.
Also, to be a perfect replacement of the default launcher, your application should have all its functions, including the option to check/uncheck plugins.

Some background picture would be welcome too, IMO.

Anyway, good job so far. Such an utilitility was much needed. Thank you.

I'm impatient to see the next version.

I know this might not be relevant to all users, but Morrowind Enhanced already launchs Morrowind FPS Optimizer and the Launcher all in one, and MGE handles MWSE for me. So it's already one-click solution.

But if this did launch Morrowind Enhanced, MW FPS Optomizer and MWSE (for those cases where MGE's internal version is too old) and have a feature to auto-launch Morrowind.exe, so it's a complete one-click solution without the pesky Launcher, then that would be awesome.

Otherwise, I just have shortcuts on the desktop for the rest, Mlox, Mash, TESCS, MW Enhanced Editor.. etc.

Just feel like it needs more, but nice proof of concept anyway.

This is not a proof of concept, it's more of a bare bones release to spark interest and to get the communities feedback. I could easily add a load of buttons and options into the app, but that's no good if nobody wants them or will use them.

Hence I have a basic release and people suggest additions, the app will then be built up that way. DOne the exact thing for my Oblivion Version and it seems to be the best way of doing things.

The main idea behind this is to have a nice UI that will hold all the links to these apps ect, that way it cuts down on desktop shortcuts but also keeps things housed in a single place.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions all :)

Morrowind Enchanted Editor already offers the ability to add and launch any third party app (one at a time) thru its Tools menu - it's completely user configurable. Having other choices is always good tho.

Now, having a launcher that can open multiple apps together with one keypress as AfroKing and emptythe mentioned would fill a needed gap. :nod:

How about adding hotkey support to auto-launch from the desktop so that you wouldn't need to manually open your launcher first?

If this become the case, I'd definitely use the app :)

I hate making requests, but you did ask... Would it be possible to include an option to close a program when you launch the game? Things like Rainmeter, anti-virus, etc?

Well I definitely support this idea as I'm making myself a TES launcher :P
It got to the point where Morrowind and Oblivion has just too many icons for different things.

I have never dealt with hotkeys before so cannot promise anything, I'll look into it though.

How many apps are you wanting to close when launching the game?, I think I have an idea for this.

Profiles maybe beyond the scope of the launcher, since it has nothing to do with your installs.

Good luck with your own project.

At the most, maybe two or three that I would use. But even one is more than we have now....

..

Profiles for shortcuts. You have more than one "tab", and each tab has same shortcuts, and shortcuts are customizable. I meant something like that. So I can point them to different installs myself as it is already like that. But supports only one page of shortcuts.

Personally i don't have any need for this as i use Win 7, and i always work from the directories. But just as a suggestion, some people who use this may find it very handy to have support for mutliple morrowind directories.

So basically, just some options on the settings page to add each extra directory, and then it would be placed below the existing set of options. Maybe an option to give each directory a title.

Also would be nice to have a shortcut to MGE.

Just a few ideas

Keep up the good work

Edit: don't think i could have said directories anymore, DOH!
