Name: Insanity’s Oblivion Launcher (ISOBL)
Version: 3.1
Date: 24/05/2010
Category: Utilities
Author: InsanitySorrow
=================
Requirements:
=================

.Net Framework 2.0

=================
Description:
=================

Insanity’s Oblivion Launcher or ISOBL for short is an application designed to effortlessly launch multiple applications with a simple click of a button.
The amount of available launch options is quite high and covers most of the most used modding tools, as well as Oblivion and the Construction Set.

=================
Details:
=================

When running ISOBL for the first time it will generate an INI file, this file is a pre-save INI meaning that it is suggested you restart ISOBL after it the INI has been generated so it can default some settings.

Now after that is done, be sure to use the Directories option and set the directories for Oblivion and the modding tools you use. Once you have done that use the INI Options to save the INI file, all settings will be saved.

Aside from the ability to launch modding tools, Oblivion and the Construction set, ISOBL can do other things too.

INI Tools:

Backup INI
Restore Backup
Open INI

Websites:

ISOBL has the ability to launch some of the more common and popular websites, I.e. gamesas Forums, TES Alliance and TES Nexus to name a few. It also has a couple of other helpful links for the likes of the BOSS Masterlist, OBSE and Wrye Musings.

Custom Launch:

On top of the in-built options there are 6 custom launch options. Two of these are custom Application launch options allowing you to select two apps that ISOBL will be able to launch; these can be changed at anytime.
The other four are custom folder launchings, i.e. you can set shortcuts to some of your most used folders, like the Data folder or a screenshots folder for example.

ISOBL will keep track of the Application or Folder name as well as the path; ISOBL will also place the names on the launch buttons too.

Launcher Music:

ISOBL like many other launch apps can play the Oblivion launcher music when it’s opened; the difference here is that with ISOBL you can set the music you want to play. In the settings Tab you will find an option to set your chosen music file.

Note: To cut down on requirements and distributed files, ISOBL currently only supports WAV files.
Auto-Detect:

A new feature added to ISOBL is an Auto-Detect feature which will attempt to detect your Oblivion Install and your MyGames folder.

This new feature is limited to these two detections currently, but future plans are to expand this further.

Default Tab:

Using the settings tab it’s now possible to set a default tab for ISOBL. The Default tab is the tab that is shown when ISOBL loads. The default tab is the Tools Tab.

=================
Installation
=================

1. Extract ISOBL.EXE and ReadMe from the Archive
2. Run ISOBL.EXE

Tip: Extract the exe to your oblivion directory and create a shortcut of it to the desktop, this way the ISOBL.ini won’t take space on the desktop. Or alternatively you can hide the ISOBL.ini from its properties.

=================
Un-Installation:
=================

1. Delete EXE
2. Delete the ISOBL.ini file

=================
Upgrade:
=================

Remove the older version before using the new one.

Thanks for the awsome utility! Makes your desktop a lot cleaner, when there's only one shortcut not ~5!

Insanity here's something you should add to the readme:

Tip: Extract the exe to your oblivion directory and create a shortcut of it to the desktop, this way the Isobl - Settings won't take space on the desktop. Or altrenatively you can hide the Isobl - Settings from it's properties.

I would probably try the app. except.... I would like to know if this is this open source and can we look at the code and/or compile on our own? I am a little leary of any .exe, .dll, etc... download. By the way I like your pet shop mod.

First I would just say that my Apps are all safe :D, They will not harm your machine.

But Yeah if you want the source code just PM me, this way I know who is getting it :), forgot to state in my readme, but all my apps have the source code available.

It works great. :tops: The only other things that would be nice to have included is Frapps, TES4Gecko, TES4Edit, TES4Files, TES4LODGen, TESsnip.
It would also be nice to see other programs such as, Blender or GMax, Photoshop or GIMP, Interactive Map of Cyrodiil and Shivering Isles ENG DE PL CZ or a better grid map app maybe similar to the map marker overhaul, DDS Viewer, BSA Commander/Unpacker. Maybe make a version with all of them for the modder's out there. I know it would sure clean up a lot of shortcuts on my desktop when I'm not running BumpTop or Objectdock.

Good work on the name generator also.

Quite a few of those I use, mostly aiming for the main tools used. But I could add those or most of those atleast in the future :)

What are the path differences when loading the CS with and without OBSE?
Just curious.

Without OBSE the shortcut points directly to the CS.exe, with OBSE the shortcut the link leads to the OBSE_loader.exe with the added -editor extension at the end of the file path.

Could you add an option that starts Oblivion+OBSE+BashMon? That would be great. I often forget to load the game with BashMon active...

It doesn't work because you forgot the space between .exe and -

obse_loader.exe -editor

C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\obse_loader.exe -editor

Doesn't seem to work either.

I Can get every Program, App or Whatever to load with a keys press but that one. Can anyone else load the CS with OBSE this way?

Nice application, and just what I was looking for but.................I need a little help with a 64bit OS and the launching of Wrye Bash (BTW everything else seems to work fine).

I believe the file path is the issue but I am unsure how to correct the problem.

http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/7091/utilitiespic.jpg

Notice in the file path for Wrye Bash the extra '\' between 'Oblivion', and 'Mopy'.

How can one edit this out?

Currently the utility tells me I do not have Bash installed because of this.

Thanks,
Nico

Try "C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\obse_loader.exe" -editor

THANK YOU That is the precise one needed for the shortcut on a Logitech G11 Keyboard. The space-editor needs to be after the "
Here is a pic of a G11 Profile http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab180/metallicow/OblivionG11Profile.jpg
18x3=54 functions which is more than enough for all my shortcuts,apps,whatnot.

Insanity's Launcher is great for those who don't have fancy keyboards. And If he keeps on expanding it, it could include all the popular apps that you could program into a G11 or similar Keyboard in one profile all in his single exe launcher. That would eliminate close to 20-40 shortcuts for me in a small program.

I still recommend his launcher as I have that set up in my profile also.

And if your the type of person worried about registering, whatever it's your loss. Read the privacy policy.

Keep up the good work Insanity :foodndrink:

Thanks all :foodndrink:, Just happy you are using it and like it.

I am currently planning version 2, becuase of the sheer amount of app launch options requested here and in other places I will need to rework the UI, so any ideas here are welcome :D
