Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 11:42 am

I have just tested the iron armor and weapons retexture and there are differences fairly noticeable in game mate! Here are some screenshots:

Hooray, I'm so on top of this now I got the original leather one on TESA before you posted the link here!

Also, because I'd been using a "clean" Iron armor texture, I desaturated the rusty parts out of your Iron textures, as well as turned the undershirt color to blue, since I'm used to Iron armor having that look and like it. I'm thinking I'll make your Elven armor more yellow like I said, and then make your Ebony armor "clean" as well (no brown parts), then upload them all to 4shared or something so I can make a post here linking to a little group of "modified InsanitySorrow textures that are similar to already existing armor variations some people may be used to," just to please the picky people out there (so long as those people have the same taste in Iron, Elven, and Ebony armors as I do!). I'm molesting your textures for the sake of diversity! But you're right about sticking to the vanilla textures, because then when would you stop doing variations? You'd have a million different choices for each armor. So you can call my modified ones the "lonely bastard pack."

I would be interested in that. Right now I have all the Insanity textures in game and they look great. But variation on some things is always good.

Khettienna has been kind enough to make a Complilation pack of the currently released Improved Armoury releases, well minus the ones I uploaded while she was busy :lmao:

You can get it http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/files/file/797-insanitys-improved-armoury-compilation/ :D

Going through this collected works and comparing what I have in my very confusing archives of this stuff - I seem to have regular textures for some of the daedric artifacts that while this collection only has the enhanced normals.

So those are missing from that.

Please let us know when you are done - I'd like to take a crack at compiling them - if no one minds.

Improved Armoury currently doesn't cover the Daedric Artifacts, they will come later, so there is nothing missing there.

You'll know when they're done as I'll be throwing a party

Ohh - OK well I get confused by the mod series titles. To me they are all from you ... so Goldbrand with fire effects and Evil Umbra while by you are not from the Improved Armory series. Got it.

@Insanity hey mate,I think you should primarly retexture the vanilla weapons/armors sets,I mean iron(already done),elven etc..then retexture other sets :) Or you have already done what I said? Btw,is your project and it follows your rules ;) Keep up the good work mate,we all appreciate it!

Most of the sets are already done, only Glass (Which I need to upload), Dwarven (Almost finished) and steel remain IIRC. The other releases are nice to work with because they're a LOT smaller, that's why I've been working with them :D

Ahah I really appreciate your work!Waiting for the next release! What does IIRC is? I'm going to release the translation for MMM 3.7 b3 in italian..But I think that will be something useful just for me..or maybe for those italians who'll play oblivion before(I don't think after) Skyrim^^

I'm curious, what is your process like after you scale the images up? Do you have some magical filter that cleans them up or is it just as simple as sharpening or something? I just remember seeing some textures a while back that were the originals scaled up that came out horribly, so you're obviously doing something different than they did. (and I totally want to steal your secrets for when I do some textures that might involve scaling up a smaller image, he he he)

Not quite as simple as that, but sharpening is one of the processes :), And no I don't have a magical filter, I use stock PS stuff and then do additional tweaking where needed afterwards.

Darn, the main one I wanted and I can't use it :( While I don't mind looking like a space invader, I can't stand looking like a phosphorescent lime green space invader

I know you don't want to change the basic colouring of the textures, but this one really needs it...

The texture it's self is darker, but the lime green colouring comes from the materials and the glow maps. All it should require is model edits to alter the materials so the glow maps no longer work.

Edit: Would also seem the models use apply highlight xD
