(Insert rebelling race here) vs Empire

The AD having dawn magic could just be Thalmor propaganda.

But Bretons don't give a heck about religion, their history have changing religions many times, so i think religion will not likely become a cause of rebellion.

I'm not big on Breton lore, but I don't remember this being stated. Can you provide a link saying they dont care about religion?

Pretty much this, while High Rock has a lot of temples and churches there is nothing stating they are essentially a pious people, not everyone in Tamriel is a fanatic of a religion.

I voted Dunmer and Rebels. My favourite race is Nord so I just picked a random race.
I hate empires.

This poll and some posts will show that some empire supporters (for the Skyrim civil war) that vote rebels, just don't like Nords.

In that case, for this scenario pretend they would be.

Why? I'd rather go with how the race is already and make it more realistic besides doing "what if this race is" kind of thing.

Breton are mix human and Elves, along the history they worship any gods they like, human god, Elven god, Orcish god...they don't give a heck. It is because Breton was son and daughters of Elven masters with their human slaves. You can look it up on UESP

Because thats the point of the thread, thats why. The point is to see if your favorite race was in the SCs shoes, would you side with them. Accuracy of lore isn't important. Most people seem to grasp the concept.

I already know about their blood. I asked about religion. Where does it say they dont care about their gods?

But the stormcloaks are more then just Talos fanatics, they also believe the empire has no right to rule them and that they have the right to be independent, there is more to the stormcloak cause then religion.

I am aware, but only religion was brought up. All of the SCs beliefs is to be inserted to your favorite race in this scenario. Why are you making this so hard? Its very very simple.

Well as I've said not all people are fanatics like a majority of the stormcloaks are and doing "what if said race is" won't get anywhere because it's simply unrealistic for said race if they aren't a pious race. It would be better if the races had their own reasons to rebel then just the same reasons as the stormcloaks.

You are missing the point. I can't make you understand it any better. It doesn't need to fit just right. Do your best to make it fit as best you can. Everyone else seems to get it just fine.

No it's just your point is bad and can only be accomplished through "what ifs" which is kinda killing it.

Not really. You're just being difficult because of the results. Only you and Qis are having issues, surprise surprise.

Now if the Bretons were rebelling because say Daggerfall or Wayrest wanted more territory which would make sense would be a better reason or if the Empire was forcing the Bretons into a unification under one power.

Its simple
For a Dunmer, imagine the empire is still in morrowind.
Religion- Tribunal banned
Empire won't allow independance so Dunmer get angry and wan't to kick the empire out.
Thalmor dragging Dunmer off the streets and torturing and killing them for no reason or possible worship of the tribunal.

Simples

Well it's different for Morrowind, Talos didn't create the nord culture, their political system or their traditions whereas in Morrowind we have the three, Azura Boethiah and Mephala, helping the Dunmer to create everything if those three were banned there would be nothing stopping the Dunmer, even the hlaalu exiles who favored the imperials would fight against the empire.

But the Thalmor part makes no sense, seeing as the destruction of the worship of Azura, Boethiah and Mephala won't unmake mundus or weaken those three seeing as Daedra are immortals.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Breton

Bretons are not disposed to "excessive religion",http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Breton#cite_note-AHOD-6 but most accepted the Aldmeri pantheon of gods while under Elven rule, then made the transition to the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Eight_Divines and http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Nine_Divines. The most notable spirits traditionally worshipped by Bretons are http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Akatosh, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Magnus_%28god%29, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Y%27ffre, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Dibella, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Arkay, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Zenithar, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Mara, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Stendarr, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Kynareth, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Julianos, and http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Phynaster.http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Breton#cite_note-VOF-31 They also recognize http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Sheor, the Bad Man, believed to have been introduced by the Elves during their conflicts with the Nords as a demonized version of http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Shor.http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Breton#cite_note-VOF-31

Edit : And look at Forsworn, they have a totally different religion than the rest, and they are Bretons

Would you like to be taken by thalmor just for possible worship of gods? No you wouldn't. don't think about the lore, just think of the Dunmer in a similar situation to the Nords.

Edit: Nords don't know that 0 worship of Tacos will unmake mundus, how would a Dunmer know that 0 worship of their gods will/won't unmake mundus.

Do Ulfric Stormcloak give religious freedom to Forsworn-Breton? No, he shout them out and invade their land, put their king in a dungeon-mine, not even give an honor to execute him and making his peoples slaves in the mines...

"The Forsworn will reclaim what is rightfully ours!"
