How is it a surprise? You know about it right now. gamesas could simply state that another teaser is coming or something. There's a reason for something to have a counter... it was meant to be watched until the debut. A total surprise defeats the purpose of a countdown.

Um, hey, guys... you are aware of the fact that http://www.duckandcover.cx/ is a fansite, and the countdown is hosted on this fansite's website? A fansite that has been around for years, and is devoted to the original Fallouts? Why would Bethesda pay them to reveal a trailer when they could just do it on one of their own websites?

I mean, when I first saw the countdown, as a fan of Fallout, I though it was interesting, but I didn't think it was even slightly related to New Vegas. That seems like a very ridiculous assumption when you realize this is a fansite, and not one of Bethesda's sites. The fact that I'm sitting here actually explaining this just makes me want to facepalm.

Well it may have something to do with InXile's Wasteland 2, considering that DaC is in pretty good relationship with Brian Fargo.
Plus it would be a good way to promote Hard Core Post Nuclear RPG. The Pipboy might be put there by DaC guys to mislead us.

We'll just have to wait and see.

I've got to disagree with you on this FFTW. How do you think this is in any way connected to New Vegas? Because it's a countdown on a pipboy on some fansite? Anyone with the proper skills can make a countdown on a Fallout-related image. Just because the admin on that fansite says it's a "mystery" doesn't mean it is, considering, you know, it's hosted on HIS website.

If this is New Vegas related and from Bethesda I'll eat my shoe. I wont record it, and I'll provide no proof, and I'll probably lie about it, but I'll totally eat my shoe.

It can be a ton of things. Either something big, or something small... or nothing at all, just a scam. But I guess we'll find out in 44 hours then! It would be cool if it were any news about Wasteland (2) though, that project has been unheard of far too long. I'm a bit confused over it saying both "wasteland" in the link and "leaving New Vegas" in the title.

Yea, they like fallout, and are counting down to something so why not use a pipboy. It could be just like using a pipboy counter to countdown to a new year.

All I know is, the page source data is constantly changing, and the page is now titled "leaving new vegas".

By all possibilities of making a countdown - why the hell using a Pip-Boy 3000 if it wouldn't be related to Fallout 3 or Vegas?

This may be for New Vegas afterall. There's allegedly a press event in Vegas going on, and there is a pic of an NCR t-shirt. There's also other stuff out but I don't know how much of it is okay to post here, so I will speak nothing of it :angel:

I kinda think it has to do with something from the Las Vegas Convention that they had, maybe not a new vid, but somethin big
