Install

Hello all.

I installed FO3 about a year ago, completed it and then left it on my computer like I do with all my games. A few months past and I decided that I will reinstall XP as my computer was starting to slow down a bit. So I made backup of the what I needed from my C: (FO3 is installed on D:) like stuff from Documents & Settings/user/app data etc.. and formatted and reinstalled. I replaced the files back into my new D&S folder and tried to load FO from the laucher and it comes up with install. Problem is I cant find my DVD so I cant. I technically have it installed on my computer I just dont have the registrys. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Maybe manually add the registrys?

Many thanks.

Scott.

I do not believe you can just manually register the game, but, these keys and values define the install path:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\1.00.0000\HKLM\SOFTWARE\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout3\Installed Path REG_SZ X:\Fallout 3\

Run direct from the exe and not the launcher.

Sorry, but the disc check is there to ensure that you haven't stolen the game, so that's the only answer you're going to get here.
