I tried utilising the e-mail support form at the Bethesda website, but I get an SQL error when submitting, so this is basically my query for them verbatim. Maybe someone here can help--and if anyone has the means, tip Bethesda off to their support form being broken.
Just acquired a retail copy of "Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition", but am having issues installing it. I can force Steam to install from the disc without issue, but, after completing approximately 3.5GB (of the 9GB+) Steam still kicks into downloading mode and is insistent on downloading 7.7GB worth of update.
I try deleting all local content, switching the game to "do not automatically update" in the library, and forcing steam to install from the disc again, but the same thing happens. Is this really necessary? I actually have a copy of the game on PS3, and know that all DLC content is already on the disc in that instance, and I'm just trying to install what's on the disc for the moment. Nothing else.
Any workarounds to get the content on the disc installed would be greatly appreciated.
Don't get me started on the ludicrousness of owning a disc and being unable to utilise the content on it without having to download copious amounts worth of additional data. So, there'd better be a workaround for this. Does anyone have any ideas?
