Installation on more than one PC?

Post » Thu Jan 30, 2014 2:32 am

Not seen anyone ask about this.

The other MMO I play I have installed on my lappie and my PC.

Will I be able to do this with ESO or would I need to buy two copies (not going to happen)?

I intend to play on my lappie at first but then get a new PC within a month or so and would then need to install it on that. Also I like to play on my PC sometimes and on my lappie if it's cold and I want to huddle up on the sofa.

Would that be an issue seem as how you have to pay for the initial game and it isn't just a free client download like the other game (LOTRO) is?

I just want to have a clearer idea in my mind on this before I pre order. I don't want to go and install on one machine and then find I can't on another.

You can install the client on as many devices as you like, but you can only use your account on one device at a time. Same as any other MMO.

That's good. I'll order when I get home from work then I think. Regular edition. Never been interested in being an Imperial.

I don't have any information that you don't but I really hope you can play it on any machine you want as long as your account is only logged in at one place.

If it does only allow an installation on one computer you might be able to do in home streaming with steam, it's supposed to work with non-steam games as well.

I've never heard of an MMO that restricted what physical machines you could install the client on. Access is restricted by online access by account, so copying the software has no pirating value.

Yes it does, but not if you copy it for your own use. Every new player has to buy his own download or hardcopy.

That's not quite what the OP is talking about. You could easily have a friend download the client for you on your computer without ever purchasing the title yourself. But it wouldn't matter, since without a valid account, you can't do anything with that client.
