So I get this message after I click setup. Not sure how to fix it, was wondering if anyone knew what is wrong.

Try running the setup.exe (on the disc) as an Administrator. To do so, just right-click on the setup.exe, and select 'Run as Admin'.

Alternatively, you could manually add the cd-key to Steam, but that would download entire game from Steam versus just most of it .
