Installed Crysis 2 - No Start Menu or Shortcut

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 12:50 am

So I just installed Crysis 2, and from my past experience with nearly a hundred PC games, every single one of them from Counter-Strike to Starcraft II install Shortcuts onto the Desktop or at the very least install a Start Menu.

Yet after installing Crysis 2 twice, I've seen neither. It's really annoying having to go through My Computer and start up the CD to play, and I know I can make a shortcut myself, but I just want to know if this is normal? Is this how it was for everyone else or is my copy a bit off?

All copies of this game ahve same installation process, if there was no "[v] Make desktop shortcut " then there is no shortcut, simple? Don't be lazy and make that damn shortcut by yourself.

And for the record, not all installation programs make shortcuts.

Wow, relax. I'm just asking a simple question, is this how Crysis 2 was meant to install? With no Shortcuts and Start Menu? I just want to make sure my Installation isn't corrupted or that I'm doing something wrong. If it's true, I'll make my own. This has nothing to do with being lazy, I just want clarification. Frankly it takes less time for me to make my own Start Menus and Shortcuts then it does Posting here.

What operating system are you on? I'm on vista and noticed the same thing. I created a shortcut for my games explorer and launch it from the desktop.

I'm in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. What pisses me off is the fact that I thought I messed up something in the installation since I google'd the problem first and found no one else mentioning the same thing. So I had to reinstalled it, and reinstalling an 8GB game on an SSD makes me cringe.

I also noticed the amount of servers are lacking. Is this because I'm not using Steam?

Man i meant no dis-respect but i hate noobs who don't know how to make shortcuts letting alone seeing one asking you if you wanna make a shortcut whilst installing the game lmao.

And no second of all it's not because you're using steam. You need to look for servers that are closer to your area and join in or make some friends. Add it to favorites and keep coming back.
