I just recently downloaded Skyrim directly from steam, when i select "play" through steam it gives a pop up stating it is installing the microsoft direct x drivers, the brings up skyrims opening menu, when i select "play" that window disappears and skyrim never starts. Not sure what's going wrong here, im not getting any error messages or anything. it's not even showing up as a running program in my task manager, the only thing i've done is restart my computer since i tried the first time to run skyrim.

any suggestions?

*edit* ive checked the specs on my pc and i should be able to run it on at least minimum requirements. the game also checked and suggested medium quality the first time i tried running it.
