Installed Heart of the Dead mod, game now crashes.

Hi everyone,

I installed the mod Heart of the Dead today, and it overwrote a bunch of videos in the C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\oblivion\Data\Video folder. Now when I run the game, it crashes after I click "Play Game." I've disabled HoD in the Data Files but obviously that won't help with the videos that were overwritten.

Any advice? I'm running the Steam version so I don't have a game disc I can pull the originals from.

Here's what I've tried:

HOD includes the original video files. I've replaced the HOD ones with the originals. No dice.
Since I removed the loading videos from oblivion.ini (so it skips right to the first set of menus), I thought maybe that was it so I deleted oblibion.ini and let the game generate a new one.
The ReadMe says running HOD with the unofficial Battlehorn patch will make it crash so I disabled that. Still no luck.

The only other thing I installed today was the English version of the Adash maps. Surely that's not the issue, I'd hope.

EDIT: Playing the game clean (without any mods checked) still causes it to crash. Must mean something got overwritten that wasn't supposed to. Hm.

Have you tried renaming your "Video" folder to something else (like "Video_old" or something), that fixed video related crashes for me (since it stops ALL videos from playing).
