Installed oblivion - new to oblivion mods

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 12:34 pm

Hi there,

A while back I posted a thread saying I had got oblivion and asked for adivce ect on mods. I am already an actvie modder for Morrowind and know a fair bit aobut morrowind mods and what not.

BUT I've just installed oblivion. I was wondering what there is in terms of modlists out there?

Essentially I like the Ayleid ruins and dungeon crawls. I also like all things necromancy, vampire and Dark brotherhood.

So you post your reconmended mods as welll as any mods that fall into those catergories? I will of course be trolling PES for these.

You can use http://search2.yacoby.net/ or http://tesnexus.com/index.php to search for Oblivion mods and don't forget to check out the relz threads.

If you need companions I suggest that you play http://lovkullen.net/Emma/index.htm http://lovkullen.net/Emma/Vilja.htm and you would love it.

As you enjoy dungeon crawls, I suggest checking out http://knol.google.com/k/toql-the-oblivion-quest-list#, as well. It's not quite current, the list maintainer having started a family within the last year, but it's close. It also has decent background on each, and links.

... No one's mentioned the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?showtopic=1010109 yet?

Also my generic post for these topics:
List of lists:
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?showtopic=1010109
Top 100
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/top/alltime.php
Files of the months:
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/filesofthemonth.php
Hall of fame:

List of topics exactly like yours that have already been answered: (You can also find my favorites in post #4)
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1072579-the-any-mods-list-of-topics/

If you want any further help I suggest you tell us about yourself; what you like and what you're looking for... Here's some questions to get you started:

Have you played Oblivion already?
What sort of things interest you?
What type of Character do you usually play? (good/evil, theif/mage, roleplayer/random-no-story-hack-and-slasher?)
Are there specific types of mods you think would interest you? (Quests, graphic mods, gameplay mods, overhauls, etc.)
When did you leave?

There is one thing you should know about installing mods in Oblivion and (I know you're quite familiar with mods for Morrowind) that's how to install mods, because Oblivion mods is mostly installed with tools such as http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097 (OBMM) and http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 and some mods doesn't work without these tools (http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1145445-relz-wrye-bash-thead-55/ and http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1144393-relz-boss-better-oblivion-sorting-software/). :)

I suggest and it's highly recommended that you should read every guide there is on http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/ before you installing any mods to Oblivion. :read:
