Installed Stutter Remover--Still having micro-stutters Resol

Post » Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:58 pm

Hi, I'm having micro-stutters. I've got great specs (GTX 690, i5 3570k, 16GB Ram, Win 7 64-bit) and the stutter remover installed. I'm got the 4GB enabler running and it's in fake fullscreen mode. I've also followed the instructions provided here: www neoseeker com/forums/43594/t1591200-fallout-new-vegas-pc-tweak-guide/.

And I'm still getting them. What's up?

Did you disable the gamepad and rumble in the controls? Check the INI and make sure they are not enabled there.

Are you launching the game with the NVSE wrapper or with Steam? The stutter remover does not work from Steam.

Have you tried full screen? If it works better, there is a mod that takes away the border.

I'm not sure what you mean by "from the NVSE wrapper." I'm launching it from Fallout_Fullscreen.exe (which is the program that lets you run fallout in a borderless window).

I think you have to run nvse_loader.exe which is the nvse wrapper CCNA referred to. This enables FNV to run with the new vegas script extensions that the stutter remover requires.
Unless the fallout_fullscreen incorporates the nvse loader? Check the console in game to verify that nvse is loaded. Launch NV, then open the console and type "GetNVSEVersion" (without the quotes). It should print back "NVSE version: 1". If this works, then NVSE is working properly. If it prints an error, then something is wrong. Recheck the installation instructions, especially to verify that you have installed everything to the correct directory.

Are you using a 360 controller?

Does using a controller effect stutters? Just curious after reading this thread. I have these little programs installed as well to help with performance, and I do use a wired xbox controller thats a usb plug in to the pc. I get stutters now and then, but it is a bethesda game after all.

The stutters come from the game looking for control inputs from the controller first, then the keyboard/mouse. So, what happens is, the Stutter is when trying to move, not the actual game stuttering per say. For example, in Fallout 3, it takes me 5 minutes real time to walk the length between gates in the strip if I have not gone into the INI and disabled the game pad and the rumble.

If your using the controller, then it should be OK, as that is what it looks at first. You might try turning the Rumble on and off to see if it has any affect.

And is the rumble off / on function in the game menu, or the ini file in the steam/common/new vegas folder? The odd time(not to often) when I get a CTD/program is not responding message or freeze, the vibrating on the controller goes nuts. I have to unplug the usb all together to get it to stop. But this is a very small occurance.

bGamePadRumble=1

Change the 1 to a 0
