Installing FNV on my second computer - How?

Post » Mon Oct 04, 2010 9:36 am

Hi. I'm a complete noob when it comes to Steam so have no idea what to do here.

My partner and I each have a laptop and I want to install FNV on both. I installed Steam and the game on cpu #1 with no problem. I then tried to install it on cpu #2. Steam installed with no problem, but when I was asked for the activation code to install the game, it wouldn't let me install it.

How in the world do I install FNV on my cpu #2? This is just so nuts. I paid for this disk, why can't I install it on any cpu I choose?? Thanks for any help.

The second computer needs to be signed into the Steam account under which you activated Fallout: New Vegas. You can install the game on as many computers as you want, but ONLY under the account that new vegas was activated on.

Thanks for the replies, greatly appreciated. Followed the advice above; got Steam and the game installed on cpu #2 and ready to go; but when I click PLAY nothing happens -- the game simply refuses to launch. Like I said, no trouble at all running FNV on cpu #1, which is a two-year-old laptop. That fact that it won't launch and play on my brand-new top-of-the-line Sony Vaio is bizarre and baffling.

Absolutely hate this Steam nonsense, bah.
