Post » Thu Mar 03, 2011 10:37 am

I'm looking for something to change the world, add more magic (including levitation), better the physics. Anyone have some suggestions?

I think http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9562 would b a good place to start magic wise, don't think it had any levitation spells though but there's a magic carpet if that's of any use to you.

Change the world how? More to do? more interesting landscapes? more interesting people? new world spaces? do you want things to be upside down so you're constantly falling into the sky? do you want everything to be pink? what?

Magic: Less annoying magic experience, Midas magic, Fearsome magicka, extended magic system(or whatever it's called), chargeable spells, audacious magery... http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?showtopic=1062767&hl=azerbagb http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?showtopic=1044862&hl=azerbagb http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?showtopic=1072385&hl=

If you want any further help I suggest you tell us about yourself; what you like and what you're looking for... Here's some questions to get you started:

Have you played Oblivion already?
What sort of things interest you?
What type of Character do you usually play? (good/evil, theif/mage, roleplayer/random-no-story-hack-and-slasher?)
Are there specific types of mods you think would interest you? (Quests, graphic mods, gameplay mods, overhauls, etc.)
When did you leave?
What did you not like about Oblivion? What did Oblivion not have or need more of?
Male or female character?

For the occasional "What are your must haves?" (Mostly just the "quests" part since that's what you asked for)
Mostly quest mods: http://kno.li/i

Thank you, I'm not sure how exactly yet I want it changed, possibly a different leveling system? possibly more guilds, more variety of armors and weapons.

I believe that the best way to use mods is to first decide what you want to change and then find a mod that will change it. It's not a good idea to download a mod until you feel in your guts that something needs to be changed, or added. If you're not sure 100% sure you want to change a certain aspect of the game, it usually isn't a good idea to change it.

But, anyway, good luck with finding the mods you need.

Scaling overhaul comparison found via the list of lists:
http://www.gamesas.com/?showtopic=820948&hl

More guilds:
Integration adds about 4 or 5 factions that you can rank up in. 2 function in a guild type way.
Blackwood Company
Servant of the Dawn
Legion faction mod
Lost Spires
Moriarcis
The necromancer
Return of Shadows
Those are the main ones I'm aware of, I can't honestly recommend them all, but they're some mods to search and look over

Armor variety:
I think most of the overhauls do this somewhat.
Core's clothing compendium
armamentarium

http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22678 is another.

I agree, though, with Pseron Wyrd - if you can articulate your desires, re: mods, you will find that people can be correspondingly more helpful with their suggestions.

And that is what the Mod Detectives thread is all about. ;)

edit: Oh, and for levitation, Supreme Magicka is the magic overhaul you want. It's good anyway, in a whole lot of ways. Yes, you can use it with Midas. I am, right now! I'm also using both with Less Annoying Magic Experience (aka LAME) - all three work together just fine. Recommended, actually. But YMMV.
