installing roberts male body, hgec, natural faces

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:48 pm

when installing roberts male body v5 variants omod, hgec, natural faces i am asked what files to over write but im sure that would mean i am taking away a feature from one of the other ones. so i am asking is there a proper installation method for those 3... like load this one first then this one and over write this, etc... or is there a way to patch them and make them work properly together?

Just had a look in Wrye Bash. I have Robert's v5, EVE HGEC then Natural Faces. Couldn't see any conflict tho. What are you getting?

That's not what I was talking about.
It's not a "file" conflict, it's conflicting (or reverting) "settings". Some other plugin must override the racial settings done by Robert's Male plugin in your load order (if there even "is" a Robert's Male plugin to begin with, as you never answered on that one).
I think I also mentioned these packs shouldn't have any files in common... what files exactly do they ask to overwrite?

Roberts Male Contain a head texture so that most likely conflict with Natural Faces which replace head texture has well.

Natural Faces or IFT should be installed first to replace vanilla facial textures. Then install body replacers and any texture replacement pack(for body replacer of your choice). Usually 'replacement' skin textures do not replace age maps(already replaced by NF or IFT).

lol srry for the misunderstanding

kk i uninstalled all 3 and installed natural faces first... now loading hgec it asks for override on

textures/characters/imperial/headhuman.dds

then with roberts the overrides were for

natural faces:
textures/characters/orc/headorc.dds
textures/characters/imperial/headhuman.dds
textures/characters/imperial/headhuman_n.dds
textures/characters/darkelf/headdarkelf.dds
textures/characters/darkelf/headdarkelf_n.dds
hgec:
textures/characters/imperial/headhuman.dds

...well my Robert's archive has no head textures in it :shocking: . Think I'd better investigate... :whistling:

It's from Robert's Male V4. This one comes with its own face textures, maybe because it provides seperate body textures for all races while in Vanilla most races were using Imperial with just horribly different coloration settings in the ESP.

Anyways, it's only face textures we're at here, no other files are overwritten. Basically it's a question of choice. You can try out every combination and see which one looks best in your eyes.
Apart from more or less different colors at the neck lines nothing bad should come from this.
