Installing WAC with FCOM-UL-BC

Hi everybody,



As the title says, I would like to install WAC: Waalx Animals & Creatures to my Oblivion setup.


I have a heavily modded Oblivion (FCOM convergence, Better Cities, Unique landscape ...) which works very well and is stable.


So I guess WAC will not be entirely compatible with my load order. In fact, what I would like is to have the WAC creatures and animals added to my leveling lists while maintaining maximum compatibility with my other mods.



I did some searches and I found that I should not use the WAC.esp (which, if I understand well, adds spawn points to the game, modify the landscape ...) but only use the WAC - Overspawn.esp which reworks the Vanilla levelling lists. And then change the name of the WAC.bsa in order to load it.



Also, I found a lot of plugins, so I don't really know what I should install and what I should not (and my esp slots are limited ^^)

This mod is old, some patches made by russian and japanese people, and they are so many plugins I don't know what is worth adding or not.

If someone knows this mod very well and can help me in the choice of plugins in order to make it compatible with my load order, I would be very happy.

I am the guy who repackaged WAC to work better with FCOM. That was a few months ago. Since then, I've done a little more work.


1. I believe the ironshieldfix is redundant if you use itemlootfix.


2. Don't import "stats" from overspawn or itemlootfix. These will override OOO values.


3. Itemlootfix does not cover arrow MOBS. Use it.


4. Use Maskars on top of all this.



I'll look into the WAC - FCOM patch. It's reliant on WAC.esp, which I don't use because of UL incompatibility and it adds things I don't really want.

I have been able to see some new creatures and no CTD, so it is a good start ^^

Will follow your advices, I will not import the "Actors.Stats" from Overspawn and and ItemLoot esp.

I will also remove ironshieldfix and search for arrow MOBS.


Should I use TCOS.esp ? This plugins was not in your "WAC for FCOM" package. But looking at the author's description, it seems to be a big part of WAC.


I don't plan to use Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul (for some reason I can't make MOO work correctly with my load order).

Is there another solution ? Will it be OK if I add WAC to my levelled lists with Wrye Bash ?

TCOS stands for The Chronicles of Steel. I don't remember what it does, but you can use it. However, if it interacts with realswords, then do not use FCOM - Realswords.



You should be able to use Maskars overhaul with any installation. Ask Maskar for help. You're other solution is to install an older version of Wrye Bash (v295) and use Dynamic Leveled Lists. I don't recommend this.

I will try again installing MOO (in fact i use obse 020 and MOO needs obse 021, but updating obse seems to affect my performance ... weird).


But why Maskar Overhaul is needed for WAC ?

Maskars seems to integrate the leveled lists from WAC and create a more consistent experience. You should ask Maskar for details.

I installed Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul and configured it, it seems to work fine with FCOM. I also removed the TCOS.esp to ensure maximum compatibiltiy with the rest of my mods.


Concerning the WAC esp, I have now:



48 WAC - ItemLootFix4v1.0bMMMorFCOM.esp

...

6B WAC - OverSpawn.esp

6C WAC - Cat Crash Fix.esp

6D WAC - OverSpawn4v1.0bFCOM.esp

++ WAC - WeaponNoScriptMOBS.esp

6E WAC - Birds&Insects.esp


I imported the WAC esps in the bashed patch (except the stats). itemlootfix and overspawn are now added to the levelled list.

MOO is loaded at the end after my bashed patch.

I am going to test how the combination FCOM+MOO+WACoverspawn works


Is there anything else I should do, add or remove ?


And concerning the load order : do these esp have to be in a specific position compared to the FCOM esp ?

Make sure that Maskar's mod is last in your list, even below your Bashed Patch. Millysoose is the expert when it comes to ordering WAC and FCOM.

Thanks for the advice, Pseron Wyrd. That's what Maskar advised me to do too.



I played a few hours with FCOM + MOO + WAC (with the esps of my last post). No CTDs, good FPS. I am very suprised of the stability of my setup with all these overhaul put together ^^


I met new animals and creatures (and even giants, probably from WAC) every minute of my game. For the moment I am happy of the result, but I am not sure at 100% that WAC is installed correctly and does not break other things.



I currently try to add WAC - TCOS.esp to my load order. It seems to be a big part of WAC:



"The sum of RealSwords, this esp is the thing in the overhaul that does NPC changes. Weapons, Mages Robes, Armors, Beards, clothes (later). This will conflict with anything that modify vanilla NPC. Yet it's one big part of WAC. TCOS is a very big part of WAC."



WAC.bsa is pretty big, so I would like to use the maximum of it on my game, not only a small part ^^



I found on the net load orders with FCOM+WAC, and WAC.esp were loaded after FCOM convergence.esp. I am going to do the same.



Do I need additional esp in order to make TCOS.esp work with FCOM and the rest of my mods ?


I will use : ** WAC - TCOS FCOM.esp,


which requires OOO, MMM, FCOM convergence and Waalx master files. (even if I don't know precisely what it does ...)
