Instant CTD with fresh install and only "The Eagle Has L

Post » Wed Jan 13, 2010 2:47 am

I've tried running the game through the FOSE launcher and through the regular Fallout3.exe and the problem persists. In my experience this has always been from load-order problems, but all I have are the official .esms and The Eagle Has Landed (Alpha 1.1, no the "unstable" pre-beta).

I've played the game with a multitude of mods on this computer before without problem.

Edit: Disabling the mod doesn't help.

Then you might want to look at the mods load order. If the CTD came after installing mods, then the mods are obviously the problem.

grab your load order off of FOMM for us, if possible.

You might also get better results about mod issues by posting them http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/forum/45-fallout-3-mods/ in the future.

I installed one mod, that's the problem. I deactivated the mod (which was only an .esp, no extra textures or anything like that) and now I have only the game esm and the DLCs but it still doesn't work.

Delete your Fallout.ini in "My Games/Fallout 3" folder and then run the Fallout3Launcher.exe again.

It could be caused by a corrupted INI file, this should generate a new one.

Always make sure you run the game once from the original launcher after installation. Again after installing the 1.7 patch if necessary.

I've got the same problem again (instant CTD), but even after disabling all mods and deleting my ini file and everything it still crashes. Any ideas?
