Instrumental soundtrack is out

I'm a svcker for a good soundtrack.

I saw Inon Zur's instrumental soundtrack (not the songs) dropped on iTunes.

Any soundtrack enthusiasts here?

Yes, The background soundtrack adds so much depth to the game, even if you don't realize it's there. Not only that, just the ambient noise.. I love turning all the music off and just listening to the world sounds. All the sound design that goes into games deserves so much credit.

Yeah, non diegetic sound is crucial for a good media product. I love to spend hours listening to The Elder Scrolls soundtracks (Jeremy Soule is king). Same with film soundtracks.

Thank you for introducing a term I was not familiar with.

I guess that makes all the Pip-Boy songs diagetic sound (happening in the game world, not outside it).

Interesting.

Aha I just use the word off handedly now because I had to use it so often in my exam. I tend to forget that I've reached a part of my life where I'm learning words that others won't know because they're becoming a little more specialised. You're welcome; it's always great to learn something new :)

I much prefer Jeremy Soule's music, but Fallout 3 was atmospheric when I wasn't listening to music on the Pip Boy.

I absolutely can't wait to hear the real soundtrack of the game.....you know....the real songs, that actually have vocals and are interesting and fun to listen too.

Unfortunately, it's only available on a service to which I will never, ever give one red cent to. Not hear to start an argument, but I am disappointed the soundtrack wasn't released in the Microsoft store, for example.

Then why did you feel the need to mention it at all? Why not simply stick with the second sentence? :)

Personally, I'm disappointed it's sixteen more bucks on top of the $131 or so I'm paying for the Pip Boy Edition (+ tax), and it's not on the Apple Music service I already pay $10/month for. But it is what it is - I'll probably buy the soundtrack in a few more weeks (after I buy that sweet 8-bit Vault Boy tee-shirt next week first!)
