Does this work when using Open Beter Cities? Or will I need a patch?


The original Open Cities needs a patch, so I am sure OBC will require a patch too. I don't know if this one is working, but try it :)

A clarification seems necessary. I have nothing against episodic development.

You may not, but a lot of people had. Ever heard of a quest mod having more than > 100 hours of playing time, which gets everywhere (except the gamesasforums) only the same response "I won't play it because of X", where X very often was the incompleteness?

I must confess and apologize, but I became quite cranky because of it.

The fact that STL has got me trying to deviate from that stance is a notable merit by itself.

One of the merits of playing my own mods: If they wreak havoc, I know it :D. Guess I was one of the front researcher of strange bugs in the last year, with two highly problematic dialog bugs, and a very obscure CTD source found :ahhh:.

Integration does not use quest popups like the DLCs to start. The quests are seamlessly integrated into Cyrodiil. Unfortunately not as much as I hoped to be, because placing NPCs out in the wilderness is a good recipe for dead NPCs. If you don't like to read the spoiler text, which wouldn't be a good idea, then I just suggest to look at the bridge leading the Imperial City Market District. There's someone standing, if Integration is working that is. And also the guild quests begin there.

I'd really like to try this mod but i'm bit scared of the Race Balacing prerequisite and possible incompatibilities with my race and cosmetic mods ecc. It took me a lot of time to tweak and make my game pretty stable (except for random loading screens CTD) so, even if your mod seems one of the best quests mod out of there, i'm still unsure about trying it out or not. Well , my OB is pretty much moded like yours . If you follow the instruction in the RPB readme you should be fine. Until now I didin't have any incompatibilities , and I am using more than 5 different race mods ( birthsigns etc. included) so i think you should be fine.Keep in mind that you need both RPB 10,5 EV + The Complete Installation Files .As for Integration is very clean and neat so don't worry . Q

Ok, i've installed the Race Balancing Pack but i'm having weird body textures on Mystic Elves and Wolf Elves, so there's a conflit with the ren beauty pack for sure. Is this mod a replacement for the Ren one? Should i disable the beauty pack?

EDIT: My bad, this has nothing to to with with the mod, my textures are screwed even without it.

In general if you use any custom race, and a body mod, you need textures made especially for the body mod. RBP doesn't touch (can't, really) Wolf Elves in any way, so I guess their body mod texture isn't present either way.

What body mod are you using?

I'm using HGEC and Ozmo textures, but somehow now the texture are not applying correctly on the mystic elves (wolfs' use same body). Btw how can i check ingame if Integration is running up correctly? I should be able to meet a guy on the bridge between the prison and the IC Market?

EDIT: Ok Integration is installed nicely, i started the quest outside the IC Market end everything went smoothly (very nice lights inside the new guild!). Ozmo textures are still screwing up on mystic elf though while they're working fine for all the other races. This never happened before and i rly don't know what's causing this/how to fix the problem.

It worked for me then, but afterwards bg informed me that it is apparently because the texture path for the mystic elves is mis-named for HGEC. it's right in exnem, but wrong in HGEC.

Edit: Okay, found the quote...

The HGEC conversion files are misnamed. Rename them to their correct names, and they work.

(Ren used "Ren" in front of his filenames.)
So either, just download the mystic elf textures from the tesnexus file above, or go find the textures and remove the "ren" in front?

When you installed RPB did it overwrite something? Before you had RPB the Wolf Elves were ok? And when you noticed the weird body textures did you deactivate RPB or the other one and/or delete? Sometimes if you are overwriting or not , i don't think it dosent matter really :D , and after you deactivate/delete you get that wierd body textures. After I installed Avariel that was using some texture like RPB I think than deactivate it , my PC was bald , no eyes and pink ! :D So ...

Well, what i'm getting is http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/4346/screenshot11n.jpg (contains nudity).

As you can see the textures are being applied, they just look very wrong/tattoo misplaced ecc. This never happened before, so something somehow is affecting these textures, but i've no idea what it is. The basic Ren's body textures are working ok (the tattoo are supposed to be only on the forehead and the hands right? the body is totally clean..), so sadly i'll stick to them for now.

I've noticed a tiny visual conflict that, I suspect involves Integration.

The clock on the wall of the Newlands Lodge in Cheydinhal (from Clocks of Cyrodiil) occupies the same space as one of the added paintings. Both the clock and the painting show up in game , the clock pendulum moves through the picture frame.

Apologies if the conflict does not involve Integration, of if the conflict has already been identified and addressed.

Having a blast with this mod. Love it.

Using your textures gives the same results as you can see in the pic. Every other texture are working fine (aquamer, ohmes), but on mystic elves tattoos are misplaces, nipbles are placed on the elbow ecc. Meh. >.>

I'm giving up, i'll use the horrilbe standart textures for Mystic Elves and that's it. Everything else is working, even on the new races included in the RBP, like for istance the Aureal race using ozmo textures without any problem. Only ME are screwed up, almost like the meshes aren't right for the textures, but as you can see from the pic that's HGEC body for sure so i don't know. I'll just never touch ME and Wolf Elf (too bad about the latter, i like hat race).

About the mod anyway, is it intented for a high lv character or i can try it at low lvs too? I'd like to start it as soon as possible with my new toon. :)

You have two options

2. Find the textures and remove the "ren" in front of the name , since they are mis-named in HGEC.

The texture path should be here:
E:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Textures\characters\Ren

go there and remove the "ren" from in front of the foot, and hand files, so they look like this:
FootFemale03.dds

In my folder the files with: "head", and "ears" in the name still have ren in the front, so you may want to keep those as they are. It'd likely just be easier to download the file and replace the textures.

You can start Integration with a high or low level character. You'll probably fail some skill checks early on but you should be able to findalternative solutions most ofthe time. Also most of the "forced combat"(ie: boss fights) can be won by being ingenouitive or exploiting a weakness, so even most of those can be done at low level

Note: This has nothing to do with Integration. If there really is any need to talk about it, please discuss it in the RBP thread.

I will only say this:

1. RBP comes with textures for it's races. Though only for it's races. If you e.g. use a race that depends on a misnamed Mystic Elf texture, RBP won't replace them at all, so there won't be any problems. Additionally RBP doesn't overwrite random files to be found in different directories that aren't part of it. And it only contains the tattooed version's textures, none else.
2. RBP comes with body mod textures for it's races (well, most of them). The Mystic Elf variant kept their correct naming, which is Ren*restoffilename*.dds. Ozmo's package and several others changed the naming to remove the "Ren" part and therefore won't work for the RBP variant. However then simply the default ones coming with RBP would take effect.
3. I've taken a look at the Wolf Elf download, and they're using the correct file path, but those of the "not tattoed" variants - textures that are nowhere to be found in RBP, and therefore aren't replaced or changed at all.

=> another mod did something to them, neither RBP nor Integrations. Install the textures coming for the affected races again and everything should be fine.

I'm very sorry for the off-topic, wasn't my intention. Last post about this. I thank you guys for all the tips but they didn't worked. Somehow the problem is with Ren Beauty to begin with, because http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/8493/screenshot12yj.jpg tattos are not showing up on the body even with the defaul textures, which i think it's not intended at all. If anyone has some ideas about that, PM me plz, so we can keep the topic clean. Thanks. ^^
