Say yes, then nonchalantly move closer to him, eventually break out into a run, raise your sword, and skewer him on it. Then drop your sword, and take the elven sword. Investigate the rest of tyhe room for other treasure.

Grab the elven sword, decapitate gustav, then raise up the scrib, hold it to vanas' face, and say "Your name is Gustav."

Grab the elven sword, decapitate gustav, then raise up the scrib, hold it to vanas' face, and say "Your name is Gustav."

Since these two are essentially the same, I'll do both.

Vanas simply stares at him.

V: "Yeah..sure.."

Vanas then immediately shoves Gustav to the ground. In the confusion, Vanas rushes over to the Elven sword, while his scrib mercilessly, bloodshedingly, nibbles on Gustav's ear lobe. Vanas grabs the Elven sword, then raises it pointed at Gustav.

G: "Wha!? No! Please!"

Vanas strikes down, stabbing Gustav in the heart. Gustav coughs and yells, clenching the blade, before falling dead and limp. Vanas removes the sword, then sheaths it, throwing away his silver longsword. Vanas then peers at his Scrib, lifts him up, and looks into his faceplate.

V: "Your name is Gustav now. Hear that, little scrib? Gustav. You."

The scrib stares blankly, but seems to understand. Vanas sets him down, then searches Gustav (The imperial's) body. Unfortunately, all he has are the clothes on his back, and a lockpick. Whatever he knew about the treasure died with him. Vanas then searches around the room, in the drawers, putting everything he finds on the bed. After a few minutes of searching, he looks through his pile. Exquisite clothing, a silver dagger (Better than his steel), a couple gems, 1000 gold, and a glowing ring. He takes everything, then opens the doors back into the dining hall.

Pwnt.

Go back downstairs, and open the big wooden door again. Have another go at the vampire.

Go back to the gate, stand in front of it, and ponder the riddle. Also, wonder whether he really should of killed Gustav, or if it was a poor decision.

He should mumble to himself that he never met an imperial, that the only gustav he knows is his scrib. Then, he should attempt to activate the glowing ring's enchantment.

yo walrus, let's make Vanas go crazy!

I'm with Broken-Scale. This adventure is like nothing in Oblivion, as Oblivion only had enemies you hunted down and killed in dungeons. This adventure has a story behind it, as we can't get to it if we just kill every friendly person we find for no reason.

There was no imperial, no friendly person. Only Vanas' faithful scrib, Gustav.

Exactly. You're obviously insane yourself if you're confusing scribs and imperials with each other.

There is no body. There's no imperial. THe room was empty except for some phat loot. the only gustav Vanas knows is his scrib. You are a thought-criminal and insane.

I think Peryiter should kick him out of the thread because he's just trying to troll and cause trouble by making up stories about NPCs and and posts that never happened.

I see what he's trying to do, I just think it's taking away from people enjoying this thread. It's a great idea to make a story of a man dungeon-crawling, and Peryite obviously has put a lot of thought into it, but if we don't allow him to to actually go through it and RP along with it, we won't get the most out of it. We obviously weren't supposed to kill him right away, as the line "any information about this artifact died with him" is a key that Vanas killed the man before he should have... if he should have.

Also, Vanas is just a man trying to find money for his family. Killing every random friendly person that could help him just doesn't make sense IMO.

But back to the story. Healthy again and with some better equipment, I say he goes and tries to take on the injured vampire again. Should be much easier this time around.

Exactly. I'm glad you agree with me and Darth. Haresus is taking away from our enjoyment with his lies.

Rolled a 3 out of 3.

Please try not to clutter the thread. Sure there is good story behind the roleplay, but if it doesn't interest people, there's no need to argue. Same goes for those who just want to see Vanas go mad, Just suggest something and leave it be. There's room for both, and there are other ways of getting info. Also, not to spoil too much, but there will be an instance where Vanas killing everything would be his downfall. So be wary!

Healthy again and with some better equipment, I say he goes and tries to take on the injured vampire again. Should be much easier this time around.

Vanas walks through the dining hall, down the second hall, and down the spiral staircase. When he returns to the throne room, an unsettling sight catches his eye. One of the doors in the throne room has been opened. (Bottom right, according to map). Deciding to ignore it for now, Vanas walks past it to the gate, lifting out the latch, and opening it slowly. He orders his scrib to stay behind. Vanas peeks out again, seeing the same figure as before. Vanas grins, drawing his sword, then he rushes at the figure. He suddenly learns it was a decoy, as the figure fades away, and Vanas is pulled up to the ceiling by a tentacle. Vanas gasps, looking up, and seeing the Vampire's hungry face, fangs outstretched. Vanas cuts the tentacle with his sword, but grips it with his free hand, aiming his sword up.

The Vampire moves out of the way as Vanas shoves his sword into the roof of the chasm, the Vampire jumping down. Vanas hangs vulnerable, before the blade slips out of the roof, causing Vanas to fall to the ground. Vanas winces, getting back up and looking to the Vampire, who seems to be grinning. The Vampire rushes at Vanas, dagger drawn. Vanas, ready this time, slides down, swinging his blade at the Vampire's knee. The Vampire screeches in pain as it's leg is severely bent backwards, a sickening crack heard as the bone shatters, causing parts to stick out of the open slice. The Vampire attempts to summon another tentacle, but is abruptly stopped as Vanas ends it's life with a single slice to the neck.

Vanas pants heavily, wiping off dirt from his greaves and boots, as he checks the Vampire's posessions. It's engraved dagger, it's hooded cloak, and the typical vampire dust. Vanas takes the dagger and cloak, replacing his own dagger. Vanas slips the cloak over his own head, the hood concealing his appearance in the darkness. Vanas walks back into the Throne room picking the Scrib's leash back up. Vanas closes the gate behind him, and locks it yet again.

Examine the engravings on the dagger (if that's important) then go investigate the open door, with his sword drawn and ready for trouble. Also, wonder whether he really should of killed Gustav (The Imperial. Remember, Vanas isn't crazy yet!), or if it was a poor decision.

Investigate the open door, but use the dagger as the concealed weapon of choice for the situation. Vanas should think that There was no imperial, he never killed aron, he never met any friendly people, the only friend he has is Gustav the scrib, THe scrib is the only gustav on all of Tamriel.

Of course, because he isn't yet crazy. When/if he becomes crazy, then he can begin mistakening reality.

As much as I appreciate the interest, you can control Vanas' actions, not his brain. Being mad flows naturally, you can't just convince yourself that something didn't really happen.

If I cannot control his brain, then I would posit that those who falsely believe their was an imperial should be equally incapable of suggesting what Vanas' thoughts should be.

((To ponder one's thoughts is, as studying is, an action. I do not think about economics, but the day before a test, I decide to study and thus I think about economics. Same thing here. Nobody's really controlling his inner functions but you and Walrus, and that's simply because we wish to see him go opposite directions. Should be interesting to see what happens. Split personalities much?))

What is it with you guys and wanting Vanas to be crazy? He really hasn't even been in the cave long enough to go crazy! C'mon guys, let us enjoy the story without random killings and illogical actions happening every post.
