Any progress? I've got my eye on that wrench.

Yep, progress is being made. I've just about got the shop mapped for ChakaZG to play with, thanks to the incredible amount of patience AOF displays when he deals with hacks who hound him on Messenger. :biglaugh: Once that is done, I'll go back to the weapon models. I still have quite a few to optimize, but I've also actually got a couple unwrapped as well. I just need to go back and look at them again to see if I can use any of the new tricks I've learned in the last week or so to improve the mapping. Have I mentioned that UVW unwrapping svcks? And that I svck at it? Really not my favorite thing to do.

Hey, I've been really looking forward to this and I haven't seen it bumped in a while. Progress report?

BTW, I volunteer to do one texture on a converted model, my own skill permitting. Would be a nice bit of practice for me :)

Progress is still being made, albeit a little slower than before. I've gone back to fixing and optimizing my models, since that seems to take the longest. I still need to get one or two of these that I have unwrapped off to Kalian, as he expressed interest in texturing a couple of them. My problem is, even though I've figured out the mechanics of UVW unwrapping with AOF's help, I still need to figure out the best way to arrange them on the map. I guess that comes with experience.

As for the building, I haven't heard from ChakaZG in awhile (probably scared him off with the mess I made out of the building maps :biglaugh: ), but there really isn't a huge rush for it. I think maybe tonight when I get home I'll look at the two Kalian requested and see if I can't get them off to him to get his opinion on the maps. At least that way I'll know if I'm going in the right direction. (Either that, or I'll haunt AOF some more to see what he thinks of them. I'm sure he's been thinking hard about putting a block on me in Messenger. :hehe: ) So, Chainy, any preference on which weapon you might want to play with?

I'd like to have a go at either http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/hammer.jpg or http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/Wrench.jpg, they dont seem too complex  but if I do one and it turns out ok/you like the outcome, I might have the confidence to try another :toughninja:

I haven't mapped either one of those yet. I've looked at the hammer a couple of times to map it, but then always picked another one to do first. I guess this gives me incentive to do it. The wrench was originally done for Dirnae, so I'm sure she would be happy to finally see it mapped. Maybe I'll take a pause in optimizing this week (or weekend) and map the hammer for you.

Nah, I'm definitely a guy. And I don't think I ordered a wrench model.

You're probably thinking of Danae. Easy mistake. :)

D'oh! My bad. On both accounts. Its been awhile since I did anything with that model and the wall section, so maybe it was Danae. Guess I need to look before I type next time.

Any finished maps yet? :deal:

Just to report :P Skinjack, I've been let home only recently, so I'd have some time, however, seems like my fresh windows install won't read Morrowind's CD at all, looks like it's damaged or something, so I can't install Morrowind atm. I'll try to find a way around to get it working, sorry for delay. You haven't scared me off, I'm still alive and all that :P
One thing tho, if I get it working, I'm afraid you'll have to send me all the files again. I reinstalled windows due to explosion of Trojans for 999 times, and I lost all files.. again. :banghead:

Sorry I've kind of let this thread slip. RL problems and all. I got laid off a little back, so I have other priorities at the moment. However, Chaka ZG and Chainy have pm'd me recently and still seem to be interested in assisting with these models in some form or another, so, once I get all my ducks in a row, hopefully I will be able to get back to this. Perhaps in combination with some of the other models I did for Eldanorcara. I still like that tree I did (was just looking at the textures AOF had done for it, which were really nice). Its a shame so much of the work done on some of these models has been lost in the past.

Awesome. I'm still interested in the wrench model if you get around to it.
