If interested

Okay, so I am new here, but I am not new to Fallout. I love the story line and everything that revolves with Fallout. So I have decided that I am going to make a free forums community about all the games of Fallout. I will need some Admins, Coders ( To make mods for the community), Super Mods, Contributers, and Members! If anyone is interested in help me. Please post a reply that you want to help.

I have no created the forums yet. I want to make sure people are willing to help out before I create something!

Thanks,
illuminati

Between here, the wiki, DAC, NMA and others, the Fallout community seems pretty well served... Whats going to make your community different to those already out there?

(No disrespect, but I need to know we're not just reinventing the wheel here before deciding either way)

Contributors would add mods from 3rd party websites and other such things. And just by posting and being active will make you a contributor.

Well, I would do that, but since there is no many people in the forums that already exist, it is extremely hard to get known in a forums of such size. See, what I wanted to do is get people who want to be known, get known by starting fresh, getting new people to a community that already exists so that everyone wins, not just the people who create good mods. So I wanted to make everyone here happy.

In this forum, it's hard to be known and respected because:
1. You can't see peoples post count
2. It's hard to get to know people here.
and
3. There is already a massive amounts of people.

IF I start my community and people want to join, I am going to make sure that everyone is known and respected (other than the trolls and internet retards.)

And no, this is not my way for people to know JUST me, and life me. This is about the community, not me.

And agent_c, thank you for the warm welcome. :D

Your Post count is under your name to the left - its not an exact count but you gain more stars the more you post... Here in the Lore/universe/series forums it just seems to be a handful of us that stick around long term.

Look, I don't want to seem like I'm pour cold water on your idea, I just want to encourage you to develop it a little more first;

It might help if you think of this like a business; eg- Wall Mart attracts its shoppers by being cheaper than everyone else and having as much under one roof as possible, Gordon Ramsay attracts his diners by having fine food and fine service, etc. Your community needs a "USP" (Unique selling point).
You need to look at your "Competition" (you may not be competing for dollars, but you are competing for contibutors time) - The Vault is the Bastion of all fallout knowledge and the spiritual successor to the fallout bibles, this place is the "Official Word" and focuses on the new games, NMA focuses on the Classic Games but has a very comprehensive news service. What I would suggest you do is have a think about your community first and think about who the community is going to be... Look at those that are already around and ask yourself "Why would a fallout fan come to your community instead of this one?" ask "Why will fallout fans post at my community?", "What is the focus of the community?"

Just saying "Would you like to join my community" is like saying "Would you like to get on my bus?" - People are only going to get on if it says its going somewhere they want to go.

Talking about respect and contributor promotion is great, but even in big communities good work is recognised, so I don't think its going to be enough... What attracts you to Fallout? Which game for you is the "Definitative" game? Which location is your favourite and why? These are questions I hope will help flesh out your idea for a community.

Well, I have to say, you have put a lot of info here. Well honestly. It's not really about "Competition." Honestly, I don't care if they join some other fallout community, it's mainly about just that fact that whoever joins will help make my community something different. All the other communities requires that you pay for some type of feature. I hate that! I want all features to be free. It doesn't cost money to give a little buy posting. If you want that feature, all you gotta do is post. I want everyone to be able to join knowing that everything is free. Instead of having to pay for unlimited downloads, hell you can have a bot come on my forum and download everything for all I care.

What I want in a community is to be, like you said "wall-mart" Everything cheap!

All I have to say is, join and post and have fun and enjoy being in something different.

I want people to be more open with themselves in my community. What I mean by this is that you can say anything you want without getting the ban hammer, you can say, "Hey, that mod is not very good" but then they can give their opinion on what could help bring out the best in the mod.

I want people to be able to say what's in their head with no penalties.

I understand on everything that you said. I just want things simple.

So if you want to join, or just take a small look, go here http://falloutuniverse.forumotion.com/index.htm

None of the other communities require me to pay, none at all.
Im a member here, at Planet Fallout, DAC and NMA. So i think you might be a bit misinformed there.

Honestly, it is easy enough to be recognised and respected here, you just have to post sense and have a pretty avatar (like me :P ) Or dont and break the mold (like agent c!)

I really dont want to smash your hopes of creating another community, and ill be sure to stop by at some point and see how its going. Just give here a chance too, okay?

I don't think you're really supposed to use this forum as a place to recruit people for your own forum (whether it already exists or not)... just a thought
