Interesting Idea of Mine.

Good chance the new TES will happen in Skyrim, I have no problem with this. I'm excited! BUT!

I'm thinking down the line here, it might never happen, but I thought of a different location besides the provinces. This trip was made before by a wizard by the name of Morian Zenas. If you know a bit of TES lore you know where I'm getting at.

What if a TES game took place in the realms of Oblivion:

Mehrunes Dagon's Deadlands
Sheogorath's Madhouse (The Shivering Isles)
Malacath's Ashpit
Boethiah's Attribution's Share
Molag Bal's Coldharbour
Meridia's Colored Rooms
Hircine's Hunting Grounds
Hermaeus Mora's Apocrypha
Azura's Moonshadow
Namira's Scuttling Void
Peryite's Pits
Clavicus Vile's Realm
Sanguine's Realms
Vaermina's Quagmire
Nocturnal's Realm
Mephala's Web

The player would go through the several realms of Oblivion, in an adventure reminiscent of PlaneScape: Torment. Not sure if you would be the person sent into the realms of oblivion, or if your one of the denizens. But for a story to take place in the realms, would mean something big was happening. Greater then the gods themselves.

We would be able to put our eyes on all the realms we haven't visited. Besides the Mehrunes Dagon's and Sheogoraths. Not including Peryite's and Boethia's , his should be different from Dagon's. And not only that, but you could also get a look at Jyggalag's realm in place of Sheogoraths, and the next coming of Sheogorath? You would figure out the mysteries of the land, we could find out exactly what happened to the Dwermer, and what happens to Dead Gods. And possibly kill some gods on the way. Possibly become a god! The developers and writers could expand on the lore of the gods if this took place in the Realms.

And possibly run into Aldera. A war between Deadra and Aldera, consider that.

This is just an idea of mine, and for you guys to discuss. I would be happy with a new TES game anywhere, I just wanted to know if you guys considered the realms of Oblivion.

T'is been suggested and refuted several times. Part of the problem is that you see too much. The Shivering Isles was incredibly large as an expansion pack, it can be even larger if they decided to make the main quest there. Usually good games and quests work by giving amazing details of one small place, rather than a large mess of a lot of copy paste. (Think Morrowind vs. Oblivion in landscaping and dungeons).

Another problem I can see is that the PC is way over-powered, not only does he kill a God (which in the TES universe partially impossible) he also becomes several Gods at once. Rather large wouldn't you say?

Finally part of the charm of the TES universe is how mysterious it is, how there are secrets which aren't meant to be understood. Like Akavir and the dwemer and the Dawn Era.

Also this belongs in the suggestion thread, couldn't help myself.

You knock over gods like they were plastic army men to an angry toddler in the TES series. You played Morrowind and the expansions, right?

It was like that in Shivering Isles too.
