I have this, and I love the few characters that I have run into thus far. I do hope you plan on creating some followers that, if anything, just have a lot of unique dialogue. After encountering some of your NPC's, the followers seem so bland :(

Won't be using until mute npcs are gone, but I fully support this cause. Always happy to lend my voice too.

Pretty sure there's a voiced-NPCs only version. Check the files section on the Nexus.

Hey Roarian, I know it's outside the scope of this particular mod, but would you and Kris give some thought to maybe re-doing some of the guild questlines once work on Interesting NPCs starts to die down? The vanilla guild questlines are so bland, short, and linear, they really could use the sort of treatment you folks have been doing with this mod.

Well, the problem right now is anything that has to do with quests has been tabled for the time being, as quests are logistically more difficult to script. I, for one, have no clue, and Roarian and the modders I've queried on the subject have yet to figure out how to get our second quest working(which, by the way, is already written and voiced, but just sitting in limbo). I'm not sure if any mod has had any success with scenes, and I do feel NPC to NPC interaction during quests really adds to the depth. So we'll see.

Whereas with dialogue I'm only limited by the number of player and NPC replies I can make semi-interesting to read, writing for quests means constantly having to sort of stop and wonder if something can be done. As I don't want to waste my time writing a super-complex quest only to have it be impossible to implement, I'm sort of taking a wait and see approach with anything quest related. The skeleton for the quest that we do have was from Roarian's old mod, and then I just slapped the dialogue and extra trimmings on top of it. People have also asked if the same could be done with the vanilla quests, as in adding more dialogue options, background stories for Delphine, Karliah, and the like, but that would mean double or silent voices.

Version 1.74v
  • Added voices to Haakon Iron-Fist, Two-Tails, Gorr, Olivia, Hagravi, Rinori, Averna
  • Forgotten Lore quest active - Talk to Olivia in the Arcanaeum
Version 1.74
  • Added NPCs Tellevi, Drelas, Tikrid, Fareloth
  • Added voices to Haakon Iron-Fist, Two-Tails, Gorr, Olivia, Hagravi, Rinori, Averna
  • Added fur trade dialogue to Gerrod and fixed branches
  • Removed vanilla Drelas spawn point
  • Removed bug where player horse would go to Vigram's stable
This brings the mod up to 74 characters, 40 of which are voiced.

Voiced-Only now has access to the larger quest 'Forgotten Lore' as well.

Cheers. :)

Just got this and I must admit I didn't have super high expectations. But the quality of this mod just blows me away.. I didn't expect the new npcs to outshine the vanilla npcs. And the dialogue fits very well with the game, doesn't feel out of place at all so far.
One of the best elder scrolls mods I've encountered I must say. And I've been lurking around here for nearly 10 years.

Just wanna chime in and say that this mod is top notch and the voice actors truly rival those in vanilla Skyrim (even the best ones). I use the voiced version since the silent voices kinda break the immersion. Even then you have an amazing amount of well crafted NPCs. I mean this is something that no-one thought was possible back in the Oblivion days. Keep working, seems the mod is getting better and better by the hour.

...but not too many of them, please - or at least not ones that are obviously vampire/werewolf (unless you're one yourself). I've put 350 hours into 3 different characters, have never joined the companions or seen vampires apart from the captives that were part of the Mages Guild quests...

I really think you guys should do a Interesting followers mod. Do you think that will solve the dialogue problem? It would be so nice to have followers that have interesting things to say while they explore skyrim with us. And you guys are just the people to do it.

I wondered if I could, but eventually got the impression that she wouldn't. Interested if it is indeed possible, though.

There are some audio problems with Followers, which is the reason they're not currently active. :-x
