Heh, the best ones are in the game, the videos are just sampling and it won't do to spoil everything. :P

Hello again :)
A few more things that the team might want to look at and check.
1.Ingrate the serving wench at Marthal inn - she never takes my order? She is sent over to do that when I sit down but there is no dialogue to buy.
2. Al-Hassan the smith - When he is at the inn the question comes up why there are so many bees in his smithy; I've never been there so I can't know that really. Wonderfully voiced by the way :D
3. Viagram in Winterhold - He hates mages; I am the Archmage but there isn't an option to say something about that. Just an observation not really a fault per se.
4. Eleanor the Book-worm - The dialogue chose of "Well, good luck with that", feels like it should end the conversation; now I have to exit it manually.

Again - must say that this is an incredible mod. It is great fun talking to all these characters.

Cheers!

Thanks for these, I'll pass them to Kris if he doesn't see them here first, and fix 'em in the next version.

1. probably for now it'll just be disabled that she's the one coming to you, given that this dialogue probably isn't recorded atm..
2. conditional thing to change, I guess.
3. could probably use a bit of dialogue, yeah.
4. just a checkbox

Cheers.

Also, the latest in voiceacting :

Hi there. Very well done mod. I started a topic about this in the mod forum, but on the offhand chance this is related to your mod I thought I'd post here too.

I'm getting freezing or crashing to desktop during dialogue (Vanilla NPCs... the sawmill guy in Riverwood, the Smith in Riverwood, and the Redguard Amren? in Whiterun.) It's never happened before, and I just installed interesting NPCs with a new setup. (Clean install, fully updated, all mods updated and installed using BAIN, systematically loaded a few mods at a time...)

I'm skeptical it's your mod because you've done such a nice job, but maybe you'll see something in my load order that you know wouldn't play nice...

That's a -ton- of mods O.o

Are there any particular circumstances that trigger the bug? Just on vanilla ones? I don't know all these mods by heart so I'm not sure if any of them may conflict with iNPCs given that that's generally dealt with based on people reporting it (thus far all reported crashes due to iNPCs have been traced to other mods instead, mostly Wars in Skyrim which is doubtful to have future support.

As far as I'm aware, iNPCs doesn't affect vanilla characters at all, only adding new custom ones - this should not generally affect characters that came with Vanilla I'd think. -muses- Obviously I don't have all these installed, so if you could trim the possible culprits down to a few, I can test myself if I can replicate the error - as you said, activating some at a time should give you an idea of which mods might be doing it.

If it is our mod, we'll first need to figure out what is causing it - given that we mostly add dialogue which doesn't seem the most likely of things to trigger CTDs. :P

Right-o... I'' be surprised if it's your mod, it just seems like the one that's most closely related to the crash. I've got some time now so I plan to play for awhile with your mod disabled and see if it happens. It isn't repeatable as far as same NPC same time, but it has ended every one of my gaming sessions that I interact with NPCs. I haven't figured out if there's a certain amount of time or what. I'll report back whenever or if-ever I figure something out.

If it's still happening I'll probably re-load a character with smaller batches and give it some more thorough testing to make sure all is working as it should.

Thanks for the quick reply!! Great mod.

Confirmed that it's not iNPCs. I just had it happen again with your mod deactivated. Thanks!

Thanks Buckley, I suppose you'll have to deduce what it is if not some incompatibility with iNPCs.

I suppose given that the mod is dialogue-centric, it is the logical thing to assume it's got to do something with the errors - thankfully, no confirmed incompatibility yet - for now.

New version is expected today or tomorrow, so cheers. ^^

Hi,
In case you guys aren't aware, there is now a silent voice SKSE plugin:
http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1365775-rel-fuz-ro-doh/

Is there any way I could convince you to package your silent voice files as a separate download from everything else? That way, those of us using shadeMe's SKSE plugin could have a much smaller download.

Perhaps a better option would be to have the voiced version simply include an additional ESP, which has all the characters as optional? No need to upload twice, then? :)

Cheers.

I'm interested in voice-acting for this mod. I assume you are still looking for voice actors? I hope I can help.

Wow really well done, you nailed the Orc voice nextmastermind!
That new woman khajiit voice also hit the exact spot.

And to believe that for so long, everyone has settled with silent voices, when in reality there are so many great voice talents out there!

Great! Things are progressing nicely!

Are you planning on cleaning up the voices any more than they are on the Youtube videos? Beatrice in particular is full of microphone popping on the video - with female voices it's quite easy to EQ out the pops...if you need any help with this I can point you in the right direction or when have the time I could have a look at a voice or two in Audacity or Soundbooth.

It's a shame that some of the voice actors didn't use a pop filter when recording - a good home-made filter is simply a wire hanger shaped in a circle with a ladies nylon stocking stretched over it. Maybe you could ask all your future actors to make a pop filter - and maybe even re-record some of the worst-offending lines from existing characters?

Would love some input on the sound editing - I'm afraid asking them to redub 130 lines doesn't tend to get the best reception, and we're short on female VA's as it is, even if we're swamped with male VA's offering their services at times. :P

Some of the VA's are better than others - particularly older roles are a bit lower quality, though several of those have been fixed up quite a bit now.

Cheers. :)

Sure, no probs - female voices are the easiest to EQ out mic popping - are you using Audacity? That's a good (and free) program to use.

I'll explain the very basics - apologies if you already know how to do this! Disclaimer - I'm not a professional sound engineer, but I've had to learn how to sound edit as part of my job, and everything I've picked up has been through experimenting myself.

The best option is to re-record, but of course that's not always possible. You'll never get perfect audio with filtering, but you can drastically improve what you have already recorded.

For example with Beatrice, simply select the range of audio (ie. the whole of each clip) and select "equalization" from the Effect menu.

The "pops" are at a lower frequency than the higher-pitched voice, so you can just remove the lower frequencies.

Click on "Graphic EQ" (so you can see the details easier) and drag the sliders for all frequencies lower than 100hz down to -20db (ie. drag 9 of the sliders on the left down the bottom). Click "preview" while you're experimenting until you get an acceptable quality. You want to avoid changing the timbre of the voice, so be careful if the lower frequencies affect the voice in any way, otherwise it can end up sounding too tinny. Experiment with a few random samples of the same voice to make sure the same settings apply throughout the recording.

You'll then need to remove background noises - select a few seconds of the recording where there is no dialogue - for example the first couple of seconds or wherever there's a long pause. Select "noise removal" from the menu, then "Get Noise Profile". Preview and hopefully what you heard before as background noise will be gone and the silence will resemble actual silence more closely! If all is ok, then shut the box and select the entire audio range. Go back to noise removal and preview the new sound. You can mess with the settings but generally the default options work in many circumstances. If all is ok then select ok and you can move on to the next recording.

I just tried quickly with the youtube audio and in 30 seconds had a recording that sounded much better than the original. I set 125hz and under at -20db (the 10 sliders on the left), and then the new few frequency settings higher in a curve until 400hz.

The Youtube audio gain (volume) is quite low, but I have no idea how this compares with the vanilla audio gain - might be worth normalising the audio if it sounds too low in game (although this will increase the background sound too, giving you more to have to filter out!).

If you'd like to chat further, feel free to PM me.
