As I mentioned in http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1478257-having-trouble-letting-go-of-a-character/, all of my Skyrim data has been completely deleted, Including my two longest running characters: My Imperial Ranger (seen in my avatar), and my Dunmer Mystic Warrior (which brought you the Thieves Guild Restocked thread in my signature).
I wanted to update to 1.9 (and finally install DG, DB, and HF, which I've been sitting on for a while), but Steam was giving me fits. As a quick solution, I figured I would uninstall/reinstall Steam. Well, that fixed the issue with Steam, but it completely uninstalled Skyrim in the process! Everything is gone The only thing left of the two characters is the collection of screenshots taken for them, so at least they will live on in memory. I suppose I could start either of those characters up again, but I don't know if I have the will to do so...
As well, all of my mods are kaput. I still have most of them in their downloaded form as from Nexus, but there are some that I don't have, and some that I probably don't remember I had, even minor tweaks and such. It will take time to find all of the missing pieces, but at least now I can install all of the up-to-date versions of critical mods such as the USKP, SKSE, Deadly Dragons, Frostfall, Basic needs, etc. But for all intents and purposes, I am starting Skyrim from scratch.
It may sound weird, but it all seems a bit overwhelming (first-world problems). I'm not even sure where to go from here. I want to really give the DLCs a good run through, then I will probably move on to another game.......probably
Anyone else been through something similar? Any suggestions one what type of character I could make? I had just started with a no-crafting bard character, and maybe I'll start him up again...but I don't know.
As a follow-up question, any other recommended mods (especially DLC specific)? Just looking for new ideas to really keep the game fresh for what I'm about to do.
