Interesting Random encounters

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 5:26 am

So.. I was just passing by some delwemer ruins on the northern part of the map when suddenly a "fugitive" came up to me and gave me a mace for safekeeping and run away nearby. Then a "hunter" came and asked me if I had seen a thief running past. Then he proceeded to hunt down and kill the fugitive and o for left with the mace because I didn't tell him he have it to me. I related to try other options but every other time I got something else happening there.
Next time it was a mammoth fighting two sabre cats and another time two bandits vs a peddler and his horse.

I kinda want the fugitive and hunter to come back so I can give the mace back. Are these events just random events? It is near a pass with a shrine of Arkay.

Anyone else got something similar?

I had a fugitive on my first day of Skyrim, he ran up to me and said he has something he needed me to hold on to. He got ravaged my ice wolves during the conversation though, so I never got the hunter.

Yea i encountered the fugitive who passed me the mace to safekeep.
However i didn't like his tone of voice when he said he'll kill me if i kept it for myself or something.
I proceeded to melt his face off with my fireball, and FUS ROH DAH him off a cliff when he was on the ground pleading for mercy.
God that was fun!

A random encounter i had was a mage who challenged me to a 1 to 1 magic duel.
I accepted the duel, and Lydia promptly rushed forward to chop him to pieces lol i didn't even have to lift a finger.
All the while, the guy was screaming something like "HEY!! Not Fair!! This was only supposed to be a 1 to 1 duel!!"

I totally loled at that scene :D

On my many travels from city, to settlement, to dungeon, and back to city, I was ambushed by an Assassin!

Upon careful inspection of his body and the clothing, as well as his mannerisms when confronting me, I deduced that he was a Dark Brotherhood assassin sent to fulfill the contract which clearly stated it on the sliver of paper on his person. Confused as to why anyone would hold any grievances towards me, I headed to the nearest city and contemplated at the chapel.

"Why? What has this loyal soldier of the Empire done to make some poor soul so cross as to enlist help from murderers?"

I was not able to come to an adequate answer, so I disregarded the matter entirely. Having such an ominous piece of parchment on me sent chills down my spine, but getting rid of it would be problematic were anyone to dig through my trash. The logical answer was to turn the piece of paper into an airplane to toss around during my leisure time.

I have now enough of these planes to start the first ever Tamriel Air Force base and wage proper war against those silly dragons.

The funniest one so far is somewhat related to a quest, it involves an encounter on the road with an Argonian called Deep-In-His-Cups and a demand for 10,000 gold

ive had the thief chased by hunter encounter at least 17 times already that i just ended up either running towards the fugitive forcing the hunter to spot him and kill him while keeping the item or just plain out gave the thing back to the hunter because the item was so pathetically useless to me.

also whats with the kajiit liar guy? i see his ass everywhere, ive even fast traveled from a location where he was to the opposite side of the map and saw him there again, he has twins obviously, or kage bunshin no jutsu

Lets see, I got the fugitive and hunter, a vampire commanding his thrall to attack the town. A women that escaped being in prison from some bandits, a Altmer named "High Elf" that randomly attacked me, several DB assassins who were hired to kill me, and the Thalmor who try to kill me they even have a note saying that Gilliam is a danger to their operation.

I have had plenty of random encounters, but my favorite were these group of bandits pretending to be Imperial soldiers, it was hilarious.

The most amusing encounters I have had dealt with children in Whiterun. I was training Sneak when a kid revealed me and asked "Are you playing hide-n-go-seek?. Can I play?"
Another little girl revealed me and stated that I wasn't very good at that!

I've never even encountered a single fugitive-hunter event.

But, I have encountered the illegal skooma trader many times.

It feels like they may set encounters based on your character skills. I have maxed out sneak and blacksmithing, with alchemy closeby, so they probably thought I am a thief that deals with illegal items. So they gave me the skooma trader many times.

Agree with the bandits posing as imperial soldiers.

"Hey, this road is closed. So uh, pay us 100 gold."

*My khajit stares at the naked, dead bodies behind them.*

"Over my dead body."

*Bandits sprout lots of feathers*

I found a giant standing at the edge of the hot springs, looking at his dead mammoth. I was able to walk right up to him without getting any reaction from him. I don't know if he was sad or just bugged.

Does a random goat flying through the air count? I followed it for awhile thinking it was some sort of quest, before deciding to shoot it down.
