[REQ] Interior Map Invisible Walls Removal

Post » Mon Sep 21, 2009 11:38 am

Is anyone planning on tackling getting rid of the invisible walls in the interior map, OR replacing them with proper substitutes?

There's nothing more annoying than climbing half-way up a mountain or traipsing down a pass to suddenly run into an invisible force field that by all rights should not be there. <.<

It would be very difficult to remove them, namely because you can't simply delete the base Collision Marker and get rid of them all at once like you can with other items. If you look in the GECK you'll see that there are currently more than 2,000 Collision Marks in the game and removing all of those by hand would be a massive undertaking. I'm not very knowledgeable with scripting so maybe there's some way to write a script that lets you pass through the invisible walls, but that's the only thing I can think of.

Interior map?
I already cleared the wasteland, still needs a lot of polish though as it's easy to get stuck in mountains.

Yeah, I meant the portion of the map that's "game playable" -- within the bounds of the content. There's a lot of places where I can tell they tried to force you along a set quest path by simply throwing up invisible barriers to keep you from making shortcuts or wandering into areas from an unintended direction.

I can respect that, but just kind of wish that had been a little more inventive than a wall of air that I can't see until I spent 30 minutes getting up to it.
