D.C. Interiors Project, Takoma Park

Post » Thu Oct 07, 2010 3:03 pm

Hey Cev,

Just a lil feed back for yah, I grabbed all your toys, inc. rollerskates and sh...stuff and I fast travel home
for a while I just dumped them in the lockers and the safe. While they where in there they were fine and dandy,
no problems at all.

About a month later I remember I had them and so get them from there various storage places and start
putting them out on display, thing went ok until it came to the

1) Red ball and the Rollaskates, if I dropped one it was fine, it stayed where I dropped it, but as I wanted to
be one of the few place in the wastelands that had 2 in the same location I then dropped a second skate
but as I did they both disappeared and one re-appeared down stairs (this is in the megeton house), I tried
several times to get it to stay but, no. I don't get it if you can have two or more in the toy shop why can't
I have two i my house, maybe same reason there is only one skate in most places in the CW.

2) After giving up on the skates I then went and started setting up the model toys, the setting up was fine
especially with the robot auto stand, after setting thing up on display, I left the house.
When I came back they where all gone with the exception of thoughts spares I had kept in lockers and safes
and such.

I dont really need any feed back (unless this has been fixed!), just wanted to give a little fed back on the
problems in your mod.

Ps, Great Work by the way, really makes a difference to downtown Washington :)

Pps. Could you do that big house near Tenpenny Tower and make it not reset, so it is usable for Item storage.

Rec

Do you have the latest version of my mod? I thought I had that issue all taken care of when I went to the esm versions. I guess I'll have to do a little more testing. :swear:

Must see screens of items your willing to reveal, Cev. I MUST.

Sure, I'll post some screens once I get close to a release but, I don't want to show you everything. I still want much of it to be a surprise for you guys.

Here's a funny idea: make the bowling pin into a melee weapon.

EDIT: Is anyone else getting invisible ghouls in Takoma Park?

You need to update I think. I renamed the nif's for the Ghouls and for got to update in an early release. They came from the new creature resource I retextured them and didn't want them to overwritten if someone else also used them.

Edit: well I just noticed the Ghouls were never packed up in the standalone version so if your using it, thats the problem. I'll be uploading a patch shortly.

As I type this I'm uploading an update which will have all new scavangeable items in all districts and my DLC Collectables add on pack. (This add on will require the combo edition and all 5 DLC's) Also, I've fixed many more missing mesh and texture problems.

Edit: Well the combo is up but, I'm having issues with the nexus at the moment. As soon as I can get back on I'll finish uploading.

The DLC collector's pack is coming up as a dead link - hope you get it up soon - I want to see what sorts of collectible goodies you made for us!

Bad news, I screwed up again! :brokencomputer: I just uploaded a HotFix for the Collectables pack.

If you've already downloaded it move simply move the DCIntDLCMeshes to the DCintMeshes folder and, you then can delete the extra DCintMeshes folder inside the original DCintMeshes Folder.

sorry, :banghead:

I've uploaded another HotFix for both the Combo Edition and, Takoma Park Standalone. There was a file path error in my pack up which would make the Ghouls in Takoma Park invisible.

Getting all this stuff packed up wright is driving me nuts. :banghead:

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Does this mean if using the combo pak :
X Dc interiors Combo pack.esp
X DCInteriors_DLC_Collectables.esp

Are BOTH checked or is it just DCInteriors_DLC_Collectables.esp checked?

You'll need the latest version of the combo edition, which comes as an esm, not esp. Since the Collectables.esp has the combo edition esm as a master, you'll have to load both.

both should be checked, It's only a small add on. I didn't want to make my mod reliant on the DLC's so I used the master slave method.

the newest version of my mod are in esm format if your still using an older esp version you'll need to update to use this add on.

Edit, Didn't see the last post  thanks for fielding that one for me weelillad.

Ok guys, while trying to get myself motivated to work on my mod some more, I started to poke around the world a little. I've decided I need to take a break from Takoma Park so, I'll be putting off Takoma Towers for a bit. I'm just a little burned out on that district. (Sorry,I hope you all, can understand but, I'll come back to it with fresh eyes.)

This weekend I plan on starting work on Dupont Circle. I think it would be good for me to finally get to a district that is not mutant controlled. My friend PoHa, has done a lot of the preliminary work on this district. I'll be taking the best of his work and using it as a starting point for the Dupont update.

With luck and, our combined efforts, I'm hoping this update won't take nearly as long as Takoma Park did.

EDIT: actually did'nt see that you had went back in and added new stuff to the other districts.

Thanks,

I'm still as always hoping to top it all with my next district.

As always I will try to bring all preexisting districts up to par.

This is a quote from my last reply on the nexus I'm just putting it out here to try to get more of a positive response.

"What I was really getting to is, I may try to enlist a couple two, three of you guys for some testing of my new district. I've ben working on the Bowling ally for a few hours now and, I'm at the point where I need to start making it feel cluttered by raiders. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, I always considered mutant controlled districts to be long since abandoned. Therefore they could be virtually untouched, just the way the original owners left them.

Now that I have a lived in district, Even if there only filthy raiders, things are different. Yes, some buildings could still be somewhat untouched but, most should have some form of raider influence.

What I would like to hear from those of you who would be willing and, able to test is if I'm overdoing it or, if not showing enough raider influence. If where I'm going works or not. No need to sugar coat things, please tell me your on track or, you F***ing up, this svcks. I'm not easily offended!

so, If your interested in doing some testing, want to lend a hand in this project please PM me with the subject line "Tester" and, your email address. I'll choose a few, and let everyone know if your accepted or, not. I'll be giving first priority to those of you who I know as faithful posters and, bug reporters.

I don't want this to turn into a spoiler for anyone so, once I get enough feedback and, have the confidence that I'm on the right track I'll discontinue testing. I'm just changing directions 180 degrees here and, feeling a little paranoid.

Thanks

Chuck"

If your interested feel free to PM me.

thanks again,

chuck aka CevSteel

I just went through Takoma Park for the first time and thought it was great. I especially like being able to see out windows to the street. My only complaint is that should have been a gun or armor or 2 or a quest that leads you from one building to another. Would have been nice to get a reward for exploring all the buildings. Would also be nice if you opened up Takoma Towers.

I love these kinds of mods. Glad someone made the building accessible. The devs got lazy and boarded up so many buildings. Like who is going to go around and board up doors and windows after a nuclear war?

Great job so far and look forward to any future developments.

Just thought I'd mention this,

Thanks to everyone who has offered to do a little testing for me. Work on Dupont has ben going a little slow, this is why I haven't gotten back to any of you yet. Once I'm ready for testing I'll let you know.

I just didn't want anyone to think I was blowing them off.

i don't know if this is helpfull at all and i'm not suggesting that you stick to actual history but some good ideas might be found in history. as they say sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dupont_Circle,_Washington,_D.C.

http://www.trueghosttales.com/paranormal/phantom-of-the-flats/ probly not your thing. but it might be fun to add alittle more creepyness to an interior

You're so right. The developers gave us this huge open world and got "lazy" when it came to the buildings . . .
