International Borders svck

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 7:33 pm

I've pre-ordered the pip-boy edition but because of international borders I cant get the game until more than a week after launch. Is there a way to pre-load the game on steam so i can play it during launch and get the pipboy later seeing a the disc will require you to download most of the game off of steam anyway.

Only way to do that, was if you had a serial key, but since you have a physical copy, no. Sorry to say this but looks like your out of luck.

Did they maybe email you a game serial key or anything like that, its a long shot i know. :sadvaultboy:

no they didn't. I'm in Germany but i wanted an english copy of the game, but GAME only shipped within th u.k (not that it would murder them to ship one pi-boy to Germany) so now i had to ship it to my brother within the U.K who has told me now that unless he pays 50£ i will have to wait a week. Let alone people already have the game i have to go through life after having waiting 3 months of bethesda being a holes to me and GAME not helping, avoiding spoilers just cus some guy couldn't put a box on a plane. Why should i pay extra for faster delivery, if you can deliver it faster than do so its not that hard. The least they could do is like i said just give me a key, im sure for different or same reasons there are other people in the same situation. Its just not fair. Capitalism.

Do you know somebody else who would like the game as a gift?

Purchase a digital copy to play yourself when the game goes live, and when you get your pip boy edition keep everything but the key which you can give to a friend or family member as a gift. Not a great solution, but it's all I got.

Edit: I responded to the original post without seeing the later follow-up post. Yeah, just get your brother to text you the key or something.

Why doesn't your brother open it and email you the key?

smart idea.

I don't buy physical copies of games anymore,I just buy them directly off steam.
However, when I did buy physical copies the copies usually came with a steam key.

As others have already said, you just need your brother to text/email you the key then download the game via Steam (which we are apparently going to have to do anyway).

Yep, Steam is Bethesda's DRM of choice, so it must come with a Steam key to activate the game. Or as is being speculated about in other threads, the DVD comes with nothing but a Steam installer and we have to download the vast majority of the game.

Yeah mate, just have your brother sent you the key, and you can just play while waiting for the Pip-boy stuff to be shipped. Good luck, and hope you have as much fun with the game as i hope to have.

PS: pretty sure the box contains a dvd and a flyer with cd-key.

Yeah, I don't think it works that way. You don't get a physical copy and a digital copy of the game. You get one or the other.

It will usually be a piece of paper or card, or a sticker on the disc case or something. In my Skyrim game it was a sticker in the disc case.

Even a physical copy will have a product key to limit it to one Steam account.

Just a question here. Did you buyed the UK version because you thought German version is cut? If, then I'm sorry to say that it isn't this time around. It's 18+ in Germany and therefore uncut.

You can resend the physical copy and just buy the game on Steam. Or you buy the game on Steam and sell the physical copy to someone else. Or you buy the Steam version, and once the physical copy arrives, you sell the Steam version to someone else, or give it away as gift. There's another option, I'll send you a PM.

Well, have it your way. You either want the game badly by tuesday or you don't. You've already bought it. I would at least try to write Beth support and see if there's something they could do.

Show them the transaction bill and maybe they will grant you a key on Steam. You will need Steam to activate the game anyways.
