International Lefthanders Day

Post » Fri Aug 14, 2015 7:45 pm

Today is International of left-handers.
I'm left-handed and had a lot of problems with it
which today are related - to do with the use of
appliances and items sold to people using his right hand as leader taunts from people today are quite frequent personal to me because
I use my left hand as the lead.

I am a left hander too.

So, Happy Anniversary. !!!

I am writing with my left hand, but do anything else with the right hand. Hmm...funny ehh.

Also, to notice: i can write with both hands actually (in a slightly inclined plane), but feel more comfotable to do it with my left hand.

My father was left-handed. They forced him to write with his right hand in school. As a result he could only print one letter at a time. He was never able to write in longhand.

I myself am ambidextrous. I have the most trouble with can openers. Because I use them left-handed, they can hurt my wrists. I pick up drinking glasses with my left hand and silverware with my right hand. I guess I'm an unholy freakish hybrid of my right-handed mother and my left-handed father.

Lefthandedness always struck me as rather sinister [/obvious] It is reputed to cause witchcraft and leprosy, though.

I'm probably the last person to comment about anyone's handedness since I'm... er, dunno what the word is: undextrous, I suppose: I'm fairly equally clumsy with both hands. Even playing bass, my attempts to find the strings are unreliable.

I'm left-handed, but I never had problems using my right hand for things that are designed for it. Scissors, can openers etc.

Because I'm a [censored] survivor. Although as a child, I sometimes forgot which hand I should hold my spoon with while eating. I became confused and suddenly using either hand became awkward. But that's probably because cutlery is designed for right-handed people.

Just joking. But I know a left-handed person who wants left-handed cupboard doors for her house. Is that really necessary?

Speaking as a furniture maker, there is not even such a thing as right-handed cupboard doors. It麓s just cupboard doors :P

Should I tell her? I'm not sure if she can handle that information.

As a furniture-maker, I'm sure you're well aware of the preference for right-handed wood grain, and for it to be finished off with right-handed varnish. I'm not sure it's fair to tease people with your outrageous claims of no right-handed-only handles.

Actually, I do remember these daft chairs we had in a couple of rooms at school with the right-handed-only armrest and writing area. Completely and utterly useless for left-handed people, but not much of an improvement for the right-handed amongst us either. Sometimes you end up wondering if they design these things just to be difficult and bloody-minded.

There are actually left-handed keyboards and left-handed mice. For left-handed keyboards they have the numpad and other keys on the left side instead of the right side and a left-handed mouse is like an ergonomic mouse, but for the left hand instead of the right hand.

Both are very rare though and not easily obtained. If you are left-handed the best thing you can actually do is start using your mouse with your left hand, as it'll actually make it so you can put your keyboard in a more ergonomic location.

Whoever thought the mouse should be on the same side as the number pad was an stupid right-hand supremacist who hated ergonomics for all.

I'm left handed. I remember teachers trying to force me to write with my right. It never worked though.

An old friend of me one made the following statement in regards to me: In this world you have your right handed people, and then you have your wrong handed people. You sir, are wrong handed.

Know what I told him? At least I'm in my right mind!!! :hehe:

Funny thing is that while growing up, I was the only one in my immediate family who was left handed. I did have one aunt and one cousin who are, but that, I think, is it.

There is a left handed day?

How come us straight, white, right handed, male people don't get to celebrate anything ever?

I only get to celebrate kick a ginger day, and being a ginger, I would rather not.

Same here. Can't write worth a damn with my right hand, but I can do just about everything else with it when it comes to things designed for the right hand.

I'm not sure whether that's offensive or not, so I'm only 50% offended.
