I have a question, how many of you are actually in bed while you're on here? Does my credibility diminish because I'm typing on a laptop with a duvet over my head at 1AM?

My laptop is on a desk 8 feet from my bed. Does that count?

My computer is in my parents room, and my mouse and keyboard don't reach all the way to their bed. However, if I had a laptop, I'd probably stay up really late on the forums.

I'm still sitting downstairs on the PC. I really should go to bed. But yeah, my respect for you has gone down a little bit now you've said that. Sorry man. :P

I'm not in bed and sometimes I have a duvet over my head.... while typing this stuff.

Hooray for forts made of pillows, office chairs, desktops and blankets!

So maybe our alter egos are there to make us look cooler? If BGSF was all webcammed up, we'd probably never respect anything anybody says.

Honestly, I think the forum rules play a big role in how we act (And how we make our "other" selves). If we were allowed to say anything, many of us would talk to each other much differently. I know I would.

I treat people here the same as anywhere. Good or bad. The rules of life trump any forum rules. If I don't like someone here then I just keep walkin' so to speak. If I do like someone then I'm more inclined to help or joke around a bit. But for me at least it's difficult "reading" people online.

Bottom line is, I am the same here as I am anywhere (except at work though, I can be just a tad abrasive because of the dangerous environment).

That's comforting. In a few years, we'll probably have girlfriends like http://xkcd.com/219/, then, I hope (the one with the fort).

EDIT: Don't worry, Andy, I see what you mean, too.

You're right, it is back to normal.

That was epic. I'm telling you, turns-the-page is the half-spawn of an eldritch monstrosity from beyond time and space. He can invert the colors on his avatar and just go thin... the man has powers.

In real life, I am treated like [censored], nobody wants to respect me, and most people generally just don't like me. It probably has something to do with the fact that they don't know what the [censored] I am talking about most of the time and that I have a lot of different beliefs than most people.

...
Hugs? ;3;

i always imagine Metrophor with blue hair. And a cat.

I for some reason imagine someone with a trenchcoat, usually dressing in dark and boots. I have no idea why. I know she has a pet snake and thats about it.

Both of these things are true. >.>
Yes, my wardrobe basically comes in two varieties: Black, and pinstripes.
...Okay, I tell a lie, there are some grey things in there too.
Possibly something red. I'd have to go digging around.

Imagine me also with vibrantly-colored stripey socks.
They are literally the most colorful things on my person at any given time.

I wish I could go all thin. That would be so cool.
...Alas, my superpower is limited to being a chameleon.
I can be sitting right there, in plain sight, and people will not realize I am present in the room. It is good for -as they say- 'teh lulz'. :3

Am I any different here than in real life? I dunno. Do I treat my strangers differently to my acquaintances? Do I treat acquaintances differently to my friends? Do I treat my friends differently to my family? Do I treat you differently to any of the above? Of course. You guys (and gals) are a special case though, as there are some I'd like to call friends, some that I call acquaintances, and many many that I call strangers.

I also say 'like' a good amount of times. Shoot me.

BANG! You're dead!

I have a question, how many of you are actually in bed while you're on here? Does my credibility diminish because I'm typing on a laptop with a duvet over my head at 1AM?

Only if you're also unclothed. I cannot take a naked man seriously.

You have a club? Can I join? Aww, it'll be so cool! We'll have a sleepover and stay up late and watch cool films and hang out with our other friends Johnny Walker and Jack Daniels.

Well, there are some advantages to getting older... :P

Adorn your mantle of slurred speach and stale breath, as to then take place amonst your peers.

I feel like turns-the-page has now added a special part to the Slender Man Mythos.

"Who was the person last spotted with the victims?"

"There... there was a man there, officer..."

"What was he like?"

"Thin, he was, like, in a suit... Oh GOD LOOK AT THE BODIES. IMPALED ON THE TREES."

"Look... you have to calm down. I know... I know it's hard to look at, dammit, but we need all the info we can get. Where'd the guy go?"

"I... I don't... he just went thin and.... Oh God..."

On a lighter note, I also have the general ability to hide and not be seen, but I'm only halfway good at it. I'm kinda good at random odds and ends type things, but no one ability in particular stands out outside of the constant ability to make my life very interesting.

I'm actually more timid on the internet. I don't know why though. IRL I'm outgoing and usually the sarcastic joker of whatever group of people I'm hanging out with. On forums/online games/pretty much anywhere that people don't actually know me in real life, I'm usually shy, and often lurk rather than actually respond to threads. Even though I have all the time in the world to type my reply, I somehow manage to be less witty and I struggle to put my sentences together.

Thigh-high, actually, though they do tend to crumple up a bit over the course of the day.
