Hi! I sorry if this is old news but... I bought a physical copy of Fallout 4 and I didn't know I was going to need access to Steam to install it (it's written on the box, but no one told me when I pre-ordered it and paid in full a month ago). I don't have an internet connection on my gaming computer, and Steam requires that to install the game. I do have an internet connection on my laptop (but I really can't play on it) and Steam is installed on both computers. Is there anything I can do to play the game? Thank you!

Enable usb tethering on your phone and temporarily use your mobile internet or wifi to download this?

I'm not familiar with the term, can it be done if my gaming computer has no wifi or bluetooth receiver? I would need an ethernet cable in that case?

No ethernet cable is required, so long as your phone has internet some way.

Last time I did this was probably on Windows Vista, so I can't give you much in the way of a guide. There is probably more detailed info online though. In a nutshell, you enable USB tethering on your phone. It should be in the network settings somewhere.Then you plug your phone into your computer via the USB end of your charger cable. You still need to enable something on your computer too, and you got me there. But it does work and should give your PC internet access. There must be guides online.

Also I think it should be possible to do something similar with your laptop. I'm not sure if that's still called tethering, but it probably would require an ethernet cable.

I looked it all up but I don't have a tethering option on my phone (only wifi hotspot) and whatever I do my ethernet cable doesn't seem to work, I think my only option will be to buy another one and hope that one works v-v! Thank you !
