Interplay and Gameloft deal

Post » Sun May 17, 2009 5:18 am

Earlier today I read an article about how gamesas and Gameloft have inked a deal for Gameloft to make and produce an Earthworm Jim game for handheld devices and for Gameloft to release Earthworm Jim on multiple downloadable sites (Xbox live, PSN network, etc.). When I went to again read the article later today, the article was pulled from where I found it on google, under finance section, then typing in iply as the ticker.

What's the deal with this? Was the original article in error or is the posting being corrected to make it clearer/more accurate?

I'm not sure what happened, but there is a deal. We'll be posting the press release on our site in the very near future.

Here's a link:

I would like to get a response about what the deal was with Sega and the Sega Vintage Collection, which had Earthworm Jim as a selectable candidate for the next XBLA game, and this new Gameloft deal.

http://genesispoll.com/

Earthworm Jim has since been taken off. Was there a conflict created between the two projects?

Can you speak about the deal, if there was any, with Sega for the Xbox Live Arcade Sega Vintage version? It was on their Genesis poll, but since this deal broke out it has been removed. Did gamesas create a clash unintentionally?

Chris,

the press release is pretty vague. Is there a "new" earthworm Jim 4 coming out or is this a new platform release of the original game?

Thanks,

Farid

Rlan,
I have no idea, sorry. We own the rights to EWJ, so if anyone would like to publish it, they would have to go through us (like Gameloft did). That's about all I know.

Farid,
I've only read the press release myself. I'm sure there will be more information forthcoming.
