Interview with a Vampire reboot

I'll agree with this sentiment. I rather enjoyed Interview, I thought ol' Tommy did a credible job.

If the plan is to film the whole Vampire Chronicles then a reboot is the only option. Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise are too old for the roles now and I can't see Neil Jordan signing up to direct all of them.

I've only read the first three and the body thief one - are the other novels good enough for adaptation? Even my memories of Queen of the Damned have been rather tarnished by the film.

Yeah, he doesn't really look "vampiric" in that pic to me, but then maybe I'm trying to compare his Lestat to Cruise's.

Memnoch would be epick. Traversing time and space with the Devil.... would be pretty cool.

I feel some of the others would probably be skipped or incorporated into other movies in some way.... hopefully better than QotD was.

I don't think he was given movie quality makeup for that pick. Probably just a quick spur of the moment thing to generate buzz.

True. I didn't consider that.

She was the vampire child that Lestat sired.

I feel a bit dubious about the merger of the first two novels into one film. That means dropping a lot of content or the film will feel rushed.

As far as I know that's not the case. I hope not anyways.... we all know how that turned out with QotD. *shutters*

It said in that nerdist.com link that you posted that it's not going to be a remake but a combination of the first two books.

That's what I get for skimming. :P

How would that work though? Interview was all from Louis' perspective while VL was from Lestats.

I suppose the perspective doesn't matter in a movie though but who's getting interviewed? Louis or Lestat? And if it's Louis, how does he know Lestat's tale?

I mean if they can pull it off it would be cool but it's going to have to be a 2+ hour movie for sure.
