Another reboot? I thought the original was okay, nothing major.
It seems a pointless and lazy reboot to me. Neil Jordan is one of my favourite directors and he did an excellent job - if they want to work with Anne Rice's stories why not adapt one of her other novels?
There's loads of other vampire films I'd like to see made:
Daybreakers seems worth a sequel. It was an interesting premise, a world of vampires and few humans.
An Underworld film set in the past (not the middle ages, maybe the Victorian era) with Selene and Viktor with a (good) new story - not about lycans, some new antagonists. They need some good script writers though, Awakenings was crap.
A sequel to We Are The Night could be good, just so long as it's by the same German production team. Continuing the story of Lena and Tom.
It's been a while since Sheridan Le Fanu's Carmilla has been adapted. I'd like to see something along the lines of the Roger Vadim Blood and Roses version with some disturbing Lynchian twists.
Brian Stapleford's https://www.amazon.co.uk/Empire-Fear-Brian-Stableford/dp/0330315757/ref=sr_1_10?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1462675525&sr=1-10&keywords=empire+of+fear would make an interesting film if done well. It's set in an alternate history where the worlds ruling classes have all been vampires since the middle ages.
Tanith Lee's https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sabella-Tanith-Lee-ebook/dp/B00LM9F9UO/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1462676306&sr=1-1&keywords=sabella+tanith+lee would make a good vampire sci-fi film.
They're not going to be Twilight's light glittering vampires are they {shudders}. Still I thought the one with Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Christian Slater was alright.
I have the same sort of brain thing that you do.......I too saw robot.
Then thought no never, err wait ok a west world type droid.... Programmed for the horror section of the park ....And bingo we have ascript.
And pointing up agree with Shoestring granted I am not really a vampire guy (there still coolish but you know not Lycan cool) It was done and to be honest not badly before, why another???
I'd rather they have Neil Jordan adapt The Vampire Lestat and not reboot Interview at all.
Methinks someone wants to try adapting the entire Vampire Chronicles to film, using the same cast from beginning to end. Hence why they're remaking Interview.
Better hope they secure the rights for all the books before Anne Rice goes off her nut or finds religion again.
I greatly enjoyed the first three books of Vampire Chronicles, would be fun if they did the whole series justice. And did Armand's appearance proper-like.
I think Leto would make a great Lestat. He's probably going to be perfect for the role.
That said, I don't think the reboot needs to be made.
