Into the depths of Allanuir

Post » Sun Oct 03, 2010 8:22 pm

This is my first RP that i'm going to host so don't be too harsh. Simple story to begin with, lets see where it goes.

The Ayleids were mysterious people. Their power was beyond any that exists now. Their Towns and villages have been reduced to ruins since their fall, and many of these ruins still contain the mystical power of the Ayleids.
North of Bruma in the mountains, a small group of Adventurers come across one of these ruins and plan on entering it at dawn.

Usual RP Rules
No Ubering at the beginnng. (Later more powerful equipment may be found but I must be consented first!)
I have to approve of all character sheets before beginning.
No killing or stealing from other characters. PM others to agree with things etc.
We will begin when we have Five Adventurers.
This story is based around Oblivion (The game world).
Below are the neccesities for your character sheet, feel free to add more if you feel like it.

A good, simple RP to start out with. Not much detail, please be sure to have an interesting plot in mind. Thank you for starting with a small dungeon crawl; we don't see too many of those nowadays. I would love to join in, but the only time I have for posting is on the weekends. If you could deal with very few and far between posts from me, this might be small enough for me to handle right now. I think I'll see how many people join in first; good luck to you! And don't get discouraged if this doesn't work out; less experienced member's RPs tend to die fairly quickly. Thanks though, good to have you :goodjob:

In honesty, I like this. It's simple and vague but that could open up to many interesting twists and turns as the story goes on. Good way to start. :)

I'd like to join, but I'm already in one RP and due to my small amount of time that's quite enough. Good luck though.

EDIT: If I have on problem with this, however, it's the fact that you say on the sheet there can be 5 major and minor skills but they all need to be Oblivion. 5 skills for each is a lot and will cause much ubering, in my opinion. Also, limiting it to only Oblivion skills is kind of unfair to those who like medium armour etc. Just because it's set in Cyrodiil, you don't need to take Oblivion game mechanics into consideration like that. ;)

Thanks man. I realise what you mean about the minor skills helping to Uber people, so I've taken out the Minor skills. Although I think i need to change it around a little bit cus i forget a few things lol. As for them being oblivion skills in general, I havent played Morrowind for a while so i'd prefer something that i'm used to at the moment

Yep, so far all character cards are great.

After Iain Mc posts his character sheet, we'll just go for another one or two people then we'll start.

I was planning on using this for a different RP, but that RP was clearly destined for... well, nothing.

Name: Foryn Ralos
Race: Dunmer
six: Male
Age: 18

Eye Color: Brown
Skin Color: Dark
Hair Color: Black
Hair Length: Medium

Class: Archer
Attributes: Agility, Speed
Major Skills: Marksman, Short Blade, Alchemy, Illusion, Sneak
Armor:
Weapon (Steel is maximum): Long Bow, Steel Dagger
Spells: Blend (Chameleon 25 pts for 30 secs), Invisibility (Invisibility 30 secs), Charm (Charm 20 pts. for 20 secs touch)
Misc.: Wears a Black Hood, Dark Shirt, Blacksmith's Pants, and Leather Shoes

Biography: Foryn grew up in the Waterfront District of the Imperial City. His father was a sailor, his mother died after giving birth to him. His early years were spent sneaking around the Waterfront, playing pranks on unsuspecting settlers, getting into to trouble with the Watch often. At the age of 13, he left the Waterfront, seeking a life in the wilderness. He left unprepared, lacking sufficient food and water to survive for any extended period of time. He also had no means of obtaining food. He had been wandering for weeks without a clue of where he was. He had been hungry, and was nearing the end, when he was saved by a Bosmer woman named Alawen.

For the next 4 years of his life, he would train under Alawen, learning the craft of marksmanship, learning how to survive in the wilderness. He quickly became an adept marksman. At age 16, he began to craft his first bow with the help of Alawen. A Yew branch formed the limbs: the bowstring was made with an incredibly rare length of Spider Daedra silk, which had the potential to last for years. He had finished the bow by age 17.

His life changed one day, when he came back to the campsite after a day of hunting and found Alawen dead. It looked like the work of bandits: the entire place had been turned over and looted clean. Foryn swore revenge, he tracked the bandits back to a cave, and silently slaughtered the killers. He now roams the wilderness, searching for a purpose in life. He will occasionally enter a cave or ruin to practice his skills, but he generally lives off of the local wildlife.

Thats fine.

Ok we have enough people to start now, but i'm not starting it now. Cause here in scotland its 02:06 and I'm tired. So I'll start it tommorow.

Whats the best way to start though? Create a new topic with all the character sheets or just continue with this one?
Suggestions?

Not quite sure. Was thinking about just throwing them in and saying, "Well you know each other" but obviously thats not the greatest of ideas.
How bout something like, a mysterious man gathering them all to help find an ancient ruin. All the man says is that there will be treasure and danger, but his reason for going there and bringing the others with him has a much deeper purpose. Something like that.

That would work nicely. Just make sure to get a bit of character interaction in there before all the main story starts. :) But I like your idea.

Also, I recommend you start the actual RP in another thread; nothing's worse than first page clutter. But that's your call, obviously.

As in like, the characters talk and stuff outside of the ruin before they go in? Just to add more character detail and whatnot

Yes, that kind of thing. Or maybe the RP would start with the RPers walking in a group along the road towards the ruin.

However I wouldn't keep interaction going for too long; sure it's good, but too much and people will get bored.

Here's my sheet, by the way I do know a fair bit of lore, but s there a website where can study most of the lore. I just want don't want to say the wrongs things in the proper Rp, cheers.

Name: Fedris Gils
Age: 24
Race: Dunmer
Gender: Male

Hair length & colour: Very dirty long dark red hair, untied.

Major Attributes: Strength, Speed
Major Skills: Acrobatics, Athletics, Cutlass, Light Armor, Hand to Hand
Spells: Restoration, Flare.

Weapons: Steel Cutlass stained in blood
Misc: Huntsman Vest, Huntsman Leather Pants, Leather cape, Huntsman Moccasin

Bio: Born on a ship, parents were merchant sailors who sold general goods to the Imperial City with a crew of ten sailors. Father and sometimes the crew taught him how to sail the ship and gave him lessons in combat. They gave him a Steel Cutlass to train with. At the age of 17 pirates started to attack the ship, everybody on the ship had combat experience so they fought back. Fedris killed three pirates and wiped his sword (stained in blood) on his long red hair. He never washed his hair after that.
Over the years pirate attacks became frequent and the crew were gradually lessening. It was tough and close battles. and as always, Fedris would wipe the blood onto his hair.

At the age of 23 a large group of pirates attacked and dominated the ship, his parents were slain with the crew. Fedris dived into the water and fled to the nearest land, which was into the deep, dark wilderness. Fedris grew adapted to the wildlife, but grew tired of it and eventually set off to find a city of some kind.
