Introductions

Hey guys, so I have a complicated idea that probably won't be possible for Obisdian or Bethesda together to make:

I love Fallout, and I love the story-driven factors that influence it. The thing is, I get waay to bored with it waaay to quickly. It's not hard for me to make the decision to start an entirely new game on my console the day right after I just started a new one. I'm sad that Fallout has such an abundance of choices that can influence your character including Perks and Karma, but what I hate is that every time you play the game it has to be the same starting point as the same person (technically speaking, in New Vegas, you're always a courier, and in Fallout 3, you're always a child looking for his father.) and it gets so tiring that I just make my own story. The problem is I just don't feel like I'm part of it like I should be. Pretty much every time I play Fallout I'm me that got kidnapped from the present time by the Enclave and just woke up in scenic nowhere and the person I'm looking for is the person that I've heard can get me back to 2010 (i.e. Dad from F3, a "scientist", Benny from NV, some guy I haven't found a role for yet  ). Every once in a while I think of new ideas that could make Fallout better, most of which are completely improbable that could even be completed in this standpoint in gaming tech.

So this is the BIGGEST thing I want (and please don't say "but then it would be too much like Oblivian" which I've NEVER EVEN FREAKING PLAYED IN MY LIFE and at this point it doesn't even matter because I think it would make the game interesting especially to people who oppose to your thoughts) is too have multiple introductcion choices. And I don't mean something like Galactic Adventures (the only good 9 year-old game), I mean like having multiple choices to play from, ex. say you just finished the game as a citizen of Shady Sands. Now you want to be a Ghoul. Start a new game and play through that introduction! Bored with that? Start out similar to how Veronica said she started in NV and be part of the Brotherhood. Aww, still too tiresome?? Be a Super Mutant. And it would be nice if you could still make the choice to change classes in-game.

Like I said, impossible. Still a good idea...

...Right??

That would be a something like a mmorpg. Can't talk about it on the forum because legal issues but the Vault will have info. Anyways as for single player I don't see how that can be done well. A game where you can start in any location as a human, ghoul or super mutant, I don't see how that can work and still have a great story, plot. Also changing back and forth from ghoul/super mutant to human or ghoul to super mutant would just be canon breaking to the extreme.

Exactly why I said "impossible".

Yep and I stating why it would be impossible. Also if you agree its impossible then how does that make it a good idea? It can't be executed in a logical way.

Are you thinking somewhere along the line of what Dragon Age: Origins did? That could be nice, you'll have the ability to play a different role in the game, but that could seriously screw up the story. In DA:O everything was brought back to the same main quest after the origin introduction, and I don't see that working in Fallout, since all the different 'classes' or 'races' are a million miles apart. And I don't think different questlines for each 'race' are an option, that would be impossible for the developers to put in the game, besides that, you'll have to balance everything out so that one playstyle and accompanying questline has the same 'quality' as the other.

I'll have to completely disagree with you on the changing classes in-game. That wouldn't make sense at all lore-wise, you made a decision, suffer the consequences, that should be the pinnacle of Fallout gameplay.

Because it's the "Series Discussion". If I talked about it in the normal Vegas discussion it would be locked by a moderator. And when I said "start anywhere you want" I was thinking multiple story lines that start in different places, not like multiplayer games where you can just parachute down to the map.
