Even in the demo I was forced to use two accounts; one to play the game and one to log into gamesas. My old name/password from previous Crysis games is what I can play with, and had to make another account here so I could post on the forums. Neither one works with the other which makes it impossible to redeem my preorder LE code that I paid for and am entitled to.

And thats is the root source of your problem. If I read you post right at this time you do use 2 accounts.

1. The one that allows you to play the game, which is based on your former crysis1 account that also is properly linked with a gamespy account.

2. The one that allows you to post in the forum, but for a reason never really got linked with a gamespy account.

The reason why you can't use account 1. for mycrisis is that it never got registered for the gamesas site itself. And never could be, cause in case you would give it a try with the same username, email and password you used to create your crysis1/gamespy combi account it would tell you that the account is not available, cause it fails to register the account at gamespy cause you already got the account over there.

The reason why you can't use account 2 for the game is prolly that it never was properly synced with gamespy at all or didn't create a gamespy account as it should have done by the time you registered it.

What this fix here might do is it allows users that have a registered mycrisis account that is also linked to a gamespy account already to change their username, cause by the time the account has been registered there was no check if the username would even been available as a gamespy username as well, so they prolly just got a username that is already in use by another gamespy user. And in case the gamesas account never got registered at gamespy it just tries to do so. But thats just a guess and it would be the best if some of the mods would take time to give a feedback for what invalid account info states the fix was meant to be.

The only way for you and many others would be to create a totally new account from the scratch by using the Crysis 2 game account creation screen. Which would need you to use a totally different email adress than you have been used before to either create an account for mycrisis or any gamespy account you might already have. Now that the account creation properly checks if email as well as the prefered username is available on both ends mycrisis as well as gamespy it would properly register an account for both, as it was meant to be from the very first begining, just never really worked. But this would only be an option for those that didn't redeem their LE code yet.

It worked but came with a price.

As said before in other threads Crytek's failure was to have the servers/MP linked to Gamespy's servers for identification. It would have solved this issue long ago.

Now let me start enjoy the game in multiplayer.

Not related to this topic, but when I want to change my password, I get a message about my email not matching, but there is no box to fill in my email to change. But for some reason the password does get changed, so you get an error message but the password still gets changed.

Yeah, last option was to change my name, email, gamespy account, gamesas account, etc… I was hoping to avoid all this but what can I do. At least I didn’t use my LE code yet. Thanks for the detailed response, it actually made good sense of what my problem is.

I changed my name around like 3 times, it was the same results for all 3. Still haven't even touched MP yet, or even log in. and i still have my LE code.... does this mean i would have to make an entirely new account with email?

Now this depends on what your problem is. But reading your post it seems like you can't even login the MP at all, right?

If thats the case you could try something to check what the problem is. Go to the gamespy site and try to login with the exact same email adress and password your used for registering here. If it should work you at least know that your gamesas and game account is linked with a gamespy account. If it shouldn't work and you don't wanna wait till the next fix iteration, the easiest way to be able to play the game is to just register a brand new account, by using a new email adress as i have mentioned it before.

hi my text seems out of place on the edit screen and i cannot click on my nick name to adjust? i am using 64bit and windows 7 is this a problem? please help havent been able to try out ther game demo even yet..thanks.

I can't change nickname of the current account.

But it is not main problem. Now I can't log to my main account (Chilli) even on the forum.

Looks like you are one of those whos invalid account issues aren't covered by this fix iteration yet, but I am sure it will be covered in one of the next iterations. So yeah going for a brand new account should be the workaround for you to finally be able to play the MP.

Use the Crysis 2 game account creation. Just make sure you use a brand new email adress you haven't used to register at either gamesas or gamespy before. Doing so should create a proper game account that is also linked to gamespy automatically which should then allow your to redeem your LE code as well.

Does anyone else think that this is completely ridiculous? I mean seriously, good job people. Why do we have to go through so much crap just to play MP, this issue should of never happened. All you had to do was create a game that worked, not half-ass it. But, being I already paid for this game and got screwed over, I have little option here but to change a name Ive had forever. Least Im able to log in now, hopefully.

Doesn't work for me. My Crysis 2 login name is Rasgueado. When I try to change my gamesas.com nickname to that, it tells me there are "invalid characters." Note that while I login to the game with "Rasgueado", I can do things like change the password by using this gamesas.com account that I'm using right now.

In short: game has correct username, website does not. This fix does not work for this situation.

Hi Crytek, i got a this problem and your workaround isnt working for me! It looks like my username is same as my e-mail and thats why i cant login ingame. The problem is i cant change my username. Everytime i try i get an error message "An error occurred". Please give us some workaround or fix it!

I created a new email and even used a different username when i tried to create an account in the Crysis 2 account creation, but even account creation on Crysis 2 is not working. i think i might just wait for a new fix. or keep making email until i lose track of the right one haha.

I already tried this weeks ago and also now still with no affect, still cant login. Still cant play Single player without DX11 Still cant play Multi with the account name I want! Still fooking pissed off!

Is there a way to delete my Gamespy account. I have an account on there with the same email address as gamesas one. Will I then be able to do this fix?

Try using a different username. Maybe the username you wanted to use is already in use.

I had the "invalide accountname or password" thing too.

I just switched to the forums section, while the login was going on (not finished, but still loading) and it worked.

So typing in account name and password and sending the login request should lead to the "login loading" and just bypass this by switching to another section like forums could work.

I think this is fix is referring to the in-game login.
