Invalid Accounts and Unable to log In

Post » Thu Jan 06, 2011 5:27 am

I can log onto the forums, but not into my account for PC LE redemption. I also can't login with my gamesas acct in-game. This is starting to become a bit of a repeating issue with release day AAA titles it seems to me, back to SP. :D

I downloaded the demo for Crysis 2 about a week ago but was never able to login. I would immediately receive an "ATTENTION An error has occurred. Please check your network connectivity" error message. So I uninstalled the demo hoping I'd have better luck with the full game. Unfortunately I get the same error and am unable to login. If I try to create an account, a "Creating Account" message comes up indefinitely and I have to close the application from task manager. I'm running Windows 7 x64. I have verified that Crysis 2 is added as an exception in Windows Firewall, and have even tried turning Windows Firewall off. I have no other firewalls installed, and my internet connection is fine (that's why I'm able to access this site and post this message).

It seems like some of you are able to login within the game, but I can't even get that far. The network connectivity error comes up instantly too, as if on connection was not available, but clearly it is.

I have the same "Serial Code Not Found" issue, where I enter it in, but if I leave the game and come back I have to type it in again. I suspect this is because I'm never able to authenticate my account with the Crysis servers. I really hope this isn't a Win7 x64 issue.

Has anyone gotten a response yet? This is REALLY getting on my nerves, there is no excuse for this to still be a problem when it occurred in the demo.

Still no movement. Why does the front-end say "MyCrisis account" if they're talking about gamespy accounts? Which is it? Why can I log in here with this name, but not play/login with it?

I should probably add that for some odd reason (at least during the demo) the game accounts were separate from the forum accounts. I was under the impression they might actually wipe the lot and then merge them but that doesn't seem to have occurred yet.

As I said in another thread, on behalf of the folks getting the european copy, thanks for sorting this all out for us :D

It's kind of annoying to see their twitter feed do nothing but gloat about reviews and whatnot when I'm stuck outside the proverbial door.

My issue is pretty much the same except for a small detail: the only reason I can't log in is because I have a space in my nickname, something that the login screen doesn't allow.

On an off-chance, does using %20 in place of the space work? Maybe an underbar?

Tried the %20; didn't work. Using an underscore logs me into another account I apparently have associated with my e-mail. I created it for the MP demo, as I had the same issue with the login screen I'm having now.

Can someone confirm whether or not the game is using a gamespy account for login?

Cannot log in to game (retail PC DVD) with gamesas.com account information.

So... Is the login using GameSpy (IGN) account info or gamesas.com account info. [UPDATE] Seems to want GameSpy account info. gamesas.com says "powered by GameSpy" so is a gamesas account a GameSpy account? (The preceding question is not really significant.)

I have two GameSpy accounts with the same email but with different nicknames, one GameSpy nickname is the same as on gamesas. Which one do I use?

Ok, I'll try the GameSpy accounts next.
[UPDATE] I've tried both my GameSpy accounts and neither of them work for login. I have been to my GameSpy accounts, they are valid and active and have valid nicknames and passwords, I can log into both GameSpy accounts. Neither those two nor the gamesas account work for login.

At the bottom of the game login is a "(serial number not found)" message. Should I click the link (something like "modify") next to it? [UPDATE] Entered serial number and that much seems to work.

You'll need to manually add your key in lower-case with no dashes in it once you sort your login issues.

Ok... I can confirm that the game is using gamespy accounts to login to play and *not* your gamesas.com account. I don't have the slightest idea why they would swear up and down to you that your forum account is what you would use, but that is not the case.

Now I just have to work on my Limited Edition key issue and where I go to redeem that and I might be able to actually start playing this game.

I will make sure all my friends on steam stay away from this game. I'm sure the console gamers are taken care of

"Code si already in use" is a different problem than the invalid login or password.

This is so messed up. I try to login using the gamesas account, nothing. I then tried my actual Gamespy ID and nothing again. I cannot log in at all. I can only login through a fake account I set up with a fake email address that I used for the demo (since I could not log in with my existing credentials). I'm worried that if I use my promo code in here it won't even add my levels to the proper account. Did that happen to anyone? This is a bit frustrating.

Same goes with me. I've tried using the gamesas.com account information and my Gamespy information. Both do nothing but pop up the annoying red screen that states "Incorrect account information". I've even tried changing my password for both, and neither works. Can't make a new account because my email is in use, and I don't really think using a "fake" email constitutes a solution to this problem.

So EA/Crytek... can we get a LITTLE more information about what is going on besides "We'll be looking into this"?

It looks like I cannot even "redeem my code" on gamesas as it's telling me that I have the wrong login combinations even though I am clearly already logged in... That is quite the mess. I know whining about won't solve anything, but pardon my frustration, I've been waiting to play this online for a while now...

Could you make yourself more elaborate? I dont quite get you. Im not asking for your passwords, Im just asking, what do you mean by, the forum pass and in game pass is different but the nickname is the same?
I dont get your drift

Whoa he is right! This is super screwed up but... I have just tried logging in with an account name and password that I had created on GameSpy (which I have since then renamed via the gamespy site) to play Crysis (1) back in the day and guess what, it let me in, this is extremely weird. Somehow they have our old Usernames and Passwords stored and won't let us reset it because it's tied to our current email address. I think this is the real issue here.

So, I've jumped through all the hoops. Gamespy, IGN, and gamesas.

gamesas and Gamespy have the proper names, IGN lists me as "FreyarH" for some reason. I have no desire to use the IGN listing, especially as gamesas accepted my proper name for registration. So.. where does this put me? Why am I stuck here? Why the hell did Crytek had to choose this cluster[expletive] of a network?

I have the same problem as you all, PC version via Steam. I have the same nickname and password for Gamespy, IGN, and gamesas. The support is horrifyingly bad right now, not even a peep about what is messed up or what they're doing to fix it. No response to any of the submissions for assistance I've made.
