Inventory and bank space

Post » Sun Feb 16, 2014 11:40 am

I dont know if anyone ran into similar issues , but i have an OCD when it comes to looting every chest/barrel and gathering every material in sight. I had serious issues when levelling during the beta , since i had to port to the bank every 2 quest chains or so because my bags were full. it was even worse since i was saving weapons and armor for saluaging for mats to level up all crafts and had to find crafting stations to salvage the said items.

Does anyone else feel that there should be an option to salvage items anywhere and a separate collectibles (ore wood cloth etc) tab?

For me, travel to towns is a fine way to do that -- If I could that anywhere, I will never go to a town besides turning quests. That means I will miss out on interaction with people more. Also, it gave more a reason to explore because I have to travel more, thus more chance of finding new stuff -- even in areas that I have been already.

Better category sorts would definitely help. That said, your initial gold should all be budgeted for bank space upgrades - you need those more than you need spare items. It also helps to keep the stacks of commonly-looted crafting materials (ore, wood, scraps, etc) in main inventory rather than the bank. You WILL be picking them up as you go, so banking those things just wastes a slot.

If you want to craft, you will run out of inventory space so fast you'll stop picking up crafting mats. See that butterfly over there and want Insect Parts from it? Forget about it--you don't have room.

ZOS very badly needs to simply take the Guild Wars 2 crafting material storage system and copy it out right. We have suggested it many times the past several beta weekends (since the new crafting system was put into place), but there has been no response yet.

We need a massive increase in inventory space for crafting. The Guild Wars 2 crafting storage system would give us that without unbalancing regular inventory space. It's pure win all around.

Complaints about inventory space seemed to be almost universal. As things currently stand I can see people using alts just for their bag space.

I know they've said there won't be an actual cash shop but I wonder if they'll be selling extra character slots. With the current inventory situation that would effectively be selling more desperately needed storage.

You can buy additional bank and bag space for in game moneys. so it might not be a big deal at higher lvls. However at lower lvls, I agree, too little space. This could just be avoided with a much bigger bank storage. 30 is way too small to begin with.

I wonder if it will though. The main problem is crafting material and there'll be different tiers of that as you level.

Unless you level all crafts simultaneously and trash / sell materials as you outlevel them, or limit yourself to harvesting only materials for crafts you are currently levelling, the problem would only compound as you rise in character level and move into new areas.

Remember that you will also have guild bank space so your mates can contribute to that with the crafting mats and you can keep only your craft in your personal bank.

A quick simple solution is reduce the amount of Provision mats you can get esp at lower levels.

Yeah. As a budding alchemist, I would appreciate more plants and less random crates full of drippings. Seriously, this is where people keep their fat?
