Inventory in Skyrim is horrible

The way you managed your inventory in Oblivion had some serious issues, however to my dismay things are even worse in Skyrim. In Oblivion you had two advantages that are vanished in Skyrim

The first one was that you selected a mellee attack and a spell and now you could attack with both of them. In Skyrim everytime you want to attack with spell you must go to your inventory and search for it.

The second one was that in oblivion you selected 9 favorite attacks and you could instantly change to them simply by pressing 1-9. In Skyrim you still must press Q and find the specific attack you want.Scrolling down is always more annoying compared to typing 3 or 4 till you find your spell

This means that i end up using far less type of attacks that i would like to use. Take for example dragon shouts. You have around 20 of them and some of them are awesome. Isnt slow time awesome? Isnt the Storm Calling great? Well guess what. I end up picking only unreleting force and Fire and Frost Breath. 95% of my shouts are these 3 which is sad since i have so many good shouts to use. The same can be said for spells

Wouldnt be better if you pressed a button to show your spells without going to the main menu and searching them?

It takes 1 or 2 seconds to go to the magic menu then a few more to pick a spell. you can also favourite them to make it quicker. whats so bad about taking less than 10 seconds to pick a spell.

You can still use hotkeys in Skyrim, just press Q and then assign the hotkey numbers to your favorited items.

You mean that there is a way to, for example, press 1 and instantly change weapon? Well i didnt knew that

Yep. :) It took me a while to figure out, too, but it definitely exists.

When using all the magic schools the favorite list turns into something like this:

Flames

Frost

Sparks

Fire Rune

StoneFlesh

Clairyovance [has anyone even found this at all useful]

Paralyze

Fear

Fast Healing

Heal Other

etc.

^Do you realize after a while that gets really long and I have magic setup for different situations? So it becomes easily chaotic and hard to manager.

Could it have harmed them to turn the favorite list into this?

Destruction < [with the arrows they use in your quest system. insert list of destruction spells]

Alteration

etc.

Do a search for SkyUI on nexus. I don't think I would now be able/willing to play this game without the SkyUI mod.

Yeah just it doesn't work because I no longer check mark my quest so I don't get the quest markers any more.

I use SkyUI, it is better than vanilla. But it still causes finger/wrist pain through scrolling. I prefer the Morrowind icon inventory and the item icon mod for Oblivion as it is all there with no scrolling, no pain.
