Invisible items. Not wtf missing meshes

Both of these showed up just plain invisible in my game after my recent updating spree. And I didn't touch Fran's this time around. Not intentionally anyway. I suspect I've done something while playing with the new (285) Wrye Bash. Fran's Optional New items has no bash tags at all in my current setup. Is that correct? Could it be the source of my issue?

Do you have the bsa - and, if so, is it registered in the ini or renamed so it loads correctly?

I added tags for Boss and Bash Taglist.txt to Frans. So either use boss to get the tags or turn on automatic tagging in bash. Else adds these to Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod.esm -

Have you tried the optimized pyfii Frans bsa that is posted in FCOM thread to see if that has same issue or not..?

I do have the BSA - FraNewItems.bsa - I use BSA redirection in Wrye - not all items from Fran's are invisible, just those two so far in a couple hours of playtime.

I added tags for Boss and Bash Taglist.txt to Frans. So either use boss to get the tags or turn on automatic tagging in bash. Else adds these to Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod.esm -

Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod.esm is tagged appropriately. Francesco's Optional New Items Add-On.esm has no tags. I guess this is correct. And the invisible items are from the Optional New Item Add-On.

I do use the pyffi-ed meshes from the thread.

These items were not invisible before I updated Wrye Bash to 285. The only things in the load order I changed after updating Wrye were:
  • Added Atmospheric Loading Screens
  • Added Display Stats
  • Updated Enhanced Economy
  • Added Quest Log Manager
  • Added Crossbows of Cyrodiil
  • Added Explosives
  • Removed Alive Waters Slaughterfish plugin
  • Removed MMM-G&GD
  • Added G&GD OOO OBSE
  • Added Brotherhood Renewed
  • Added Kragenir's Death Quest and compatibility patches
  • Added VASE
  • Added Shining Creatures
  • Updated The Crimson Queen


And I did not have this issue with the chain dress before updating. Immediately after updating, it became invisible. My character is wearing the chaindress, and I play exclusively in 1st person, so i thought I would ignore it until I ran into an orc wearing the invisible greaves. So, now I'm trying to track it down. Thanks for helping.

This is why I suspect the bashed patch as the culprit. Well, 286 is due soon. And glitches with Import Names and a couple of other things should be ironed out. I'll try the new version and see what happens to the chaindress.

EDIT: Oh, and I see in my load order that I have two different Aesgaard Delayers - have now removed Wrinklyninja's one and left in Aelis'. Not that that has anything to do with invisible Fran's items.

I'm resurrecting this unresolved thread, because since I posted it I have seen at least three others report the same invisible clothing/armor problem. I'm puzzled. I don't remember ever seeing this issue reported in the last year or so, so I can't figure out why several people suddenly have it.

Ideas?

I'm going to fiddle some tonight and see if I can't work it out. I think I've only fired up the game once or twice since starting this thread, and I just ignored the invisibility. I don't play in third person, so the chaindress only hits me when I'm in menu. And so far I've only seen the other invisible item on one NPC. Hmmm...

EDIT: ...and it was as Arkngt suspected. I simply added in FraNewItems.bsa to the ini file and voila! the items are visible again. Hmmph. Don't know why they went invisible when they did, though. Could it be the new ini tweaks features of Wrye Bash 285? Could initializing that have erased the bsa from the ini?
