iPhone app!!!!!!!! XD

Post » Sat Jan 01, 2011 6:06 pm

Crysis seems like it did a really good job in moving from the computer to the consoles. The game looks like it will be the best game ever made! But the cry engines 3 enemy unreal engine 3 (which by the way falls short of the cry engine) already made an application for the iPhone and its simply the best looking one and one of the funnest in the whole app store. So I would enjoy it and I think it would be cool if the team of crytek and their engine did the same thing they did on the consoles and bring crysis to the iPhone!!! you never know.... besides that will spread the reach of crysis even further.

Well they butchered the cryengine to fit on consoles, it's not as big of a difference to get it to the iphone.

Sorry, Crytek is too busy catering to the Xbox 360. I don't think they have enough time for other platforms.

It's already associated with the 360, it can't get much worse.

whether you hate apple or not - the iphone 4 is a good phone and is one hell of a powerful rig. The App that robertdold is referring to is called Infinity Blade. For $8. It looks like a console game. The graphics powered by Unreal Engine 3 are simply amazing for such a small device. It matches some early xbox 360 games graphics. The game may be a little boring at first but soon becomes one of the most addictive game ever, and every second of it is awesome because of the jaw-dropping graphics.
Even though a lot of people hate apple, the truth is they have brought out some very revolutionary products. Apple's products are also known for their creative side and are used by video-editors, musicians etc. I prefer a windows pc but still.
In light of the 'Infinity Blade' app, I'd really like to see what heights could actually be attained with the
iphone 5. And if you have played Infinity blade, imagine what could be done if nvidia partners with apple for the iphone 5 development and somehow use an nvidia Graphics chip for the iphone.
But that's wishful thinking, i guess :P

Infinity Blade is the ****.

Plus the Iphone is a underestimated little power house. I think I rather get a Iphone over portable gaming devices these days.

very true, i completely agree. games like Infinity blade and Real Racing 2 show just how powerful it is. And with the iphone 5 set to have dual core processors, i reckon the future is bright. with a rig like that, you wouldn't need portable gaming devices like the DS

iPhone may be more powerful than some other platforms, but the gaming quality will never, ever, EVER be excellent.
Other, detailed games which could run on an iPhone like Chrono Trigger, the Zeldas (especially Link to the Past), Cave Story, all 9000 Pokemons will never be made for the iPhone. Why? Because developers for the iPhone pump out basic waiting-for-a-bus games in a matter of weeks.
Also, if Cave Story were on an iPhone it would cost $50.

Looky here:

Crytek are hiring Mobile devs for other projects. I can assume their interested in making a mobile version of CryEngine, which wouldn't be a bad thing at all.

If they bring crysis to iphones the pc version of crysis 3 will probably be a iphone port with 125 by 125 textures on very high settings, now that most devs are porting games from consoles to the pc very badly optimized and weird system requirements like BC2,it seems like a trend in game industry to do this console>pc ports...

Firstly lets see what will happen to Crysis after making it a multiplatform game and than decide if it is to be published on iphone or not

Why would they want to do that?

I doubt it will be Crysis 3, it will probably be a mini game, or a game related to Crysis, but due to the limitations of the mobile game development they'll keep it simple. Besides Mobile games are doing well, but they won't beat gaming on consoles or on PC.
