Ipod Touch?

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2010 3:37 am

Currently I have a PSP for my music but I find myself deleting music to fit more game related content on it, Is the Ipod Touch worth the price? I would probably use it mainly for music but have seen a few cool apps for it aswell.

I have the 64gb one and I love it.
Of course there will be people saying "OMGZ it's Apple so it automatically svckZZZ", but I think the iTouch is one of the best MP3 players you can buy.

What a coincidence, I just bought one! I got a 32gb and I've already got it with 15gb of music. Before I felt "suffocated" using my 8gb ipod and beleive me, moving up to a more spacious one is great. Not to mention you get internet (where avalible), and some games that are pretty fun aswell. :celebration:

I'd recommend it (I'm typing this on my iPod touch). It has tons of apps, a great web browser, and obviously music.

Hell yeah it's worth it. Best music listening device there is.
Well, besides your own ears. Those are better at listening to music.

My wife has a creative zen mosaic, it lacks a lot of the fancy stuff an ipod touch has but it's well designed and has held up despite a very rough life (my wife's a field archaeologist). It sounds like you're interested in the fancy stuff but I thought I'd through that out there. :)

Apple products are more hassle than they're worth, because they are totally bound to iTunes. Get a player that you can just drag-and-drop your mp3 files, rather than have to sync up with software.

I say nay nay.

Personally I feel the ipod touches are a big waste of money. You say you primarily want it for music. For what you pay, you barely get any storage for music. (It's what, like $350 for a 64 gig touch?). Plus, they break easily. And I hate apple.

I'd go with a Creative Zen as Hungry Donner suggested. I have one and it's lasted me years of abuse. It's been thrown off walls, dropped on concrete, and it still works.

Lol, wat? No.

Are you going to come up with any reasoning or just make a pointless statement like that?

Did you just say iTunes is the only way to get files onto a iPod?
I say again.

If you want one for primarily music, go for 160 gig classic. You never have to worry about running out of space for music (I would hope so at least) and they're relatively cheap (Got mine for $200)

So how does hacking your iPod denounce what I said about iTunes being tied to an iPod? I could hack my toaster to play music but I wouldn't add that onto a list of "Things you use a toaster for".

It's not an intended feature. Just because someone else got tired of using Apple software doesn't mean it's something built into the player.

I never said that. As a matter of fact, if you simply read, you'd see I said nothing about it being tied to iTunes. You said that, yeah.
I said iTunes isn't the only way to get music onto your iPod. So you're right again, hacking your iPod has nothing to do with it being tied to it, and that wasn't the point I was making.

I love my Itouch. I've had it since last Xmas and it hasn't failed me once. I never even have bought more than $10 worth of apps, I just download free ones or those that are free on promotions. It's especially nice if you don't have a netbook or laptop, since you can check your messages anywhere that has Wifi.

You weren't making a point though. "Lol, no" is not a point, as if everybody is supposed to know your methods of getting around itunes?

Pretty sure most people are aware you don't have to use iTunes to use an iPod. I do, I love iTunes. Don't see why you wouldn't want to use it.

I was not aware. I don't own an iPod, and I don't follow iPod culture. My family owns them, and iTunes is a lot more pointlessly involved than just dragging and dropping my music files.

And that's all I'll say, don't want to veer this topic off course.

Okay, I was just going to read this and stay quiet, but now I want to know what the hell you're talking about. Send me a PM if need be.

On-Topic: The iTouch is really fun to use. My sister has one and I love to play with the apps when I can. The apps outweigh any of it's other features in my opinion. If apps were it's only feature then it'd still be a barrel of fun.

I never saw the point of owning a 64GB iPod, myself. I have a 4GB iPod-type-thing that I use and love. I have no need for that much space.

Then it was probably not a particularly good idea to come into the topic and state something you did not have much knowledge of.
