Irrational Games - Bioshock Maker Shutting Down

This just popped up on my screen. I never played the series, but I know a lot of people do.

Sounds like they are just moving on to a different scope of gaming and most the people are being let go so that a few are left behind to start something new. I wonder if someone else will pickup the title and continue it, or if it really the end.

Did all the DLC for Infinite come out yet?

It's nice to see them moving on to (Hopefully) bigger things but...People losing jobs always svcks.

EDIT- I read the article and it states that the rest of the DLC will come out March 25.

They had one come out and a "season pass". The one DLC that came out was "Burial At Sea" and "Burial At Sea Part 2" was supposed to be out soon.

I haven't bought Burial At Sea yet. But it did look good. Kind of svcks that Irrational is shutting down / moving on.

It seems rather selfish of Levine to have ~200 fired just go he can focus on what he wants. If he was so desperate to do his own thing, he should have either spun the 16 man team off, or left to set up his own team.

BioShock is one of the most overrated series of all time to me. Won't miss them at all.

*chanting*

System Shock 3! System Shock 3! System Shock 3! System Shock 3! System Shock 3!

The gameplay was so-so, but the art direction was some of the best I've ever seen (not the best) in 28 years of gaming. I guess I like to appreciate things for what they are rather than paying attention to things being "overrated" or "underrated." I'm happier that way.

I half-agree. The first Bioshock was good, but in my opinion the second was massively overrated. The art style was nice, but the graphics themselves were unimpressive. The gameplay was pretty generic, and I honestly have no idea why people praised the story so much. It was somewhat interesting, but the plot twist at the end didn't do much for me.
